Dr. Marianne L Zakarian, MD

I had a hysterectomy by Dr. Zakarian in 2007. I did not need a hysterectomy. I was bleeding because of the hormones I was taking for hot flashes. What was there? 2 tiny fibroids, one the size of a pea the other 2 peas, that were not causing any problems, they were calcified. She told me I had a "fibroid uterus". Surgery was to be vaginally. Woke to a scar from one hip to the other, a catheter and in extreme pain. She made light of my pain, lied on the paperwork, said that I had no problem ambulating. She altered the discharge summary saying she first gave me opium and belladonna supprettes to take home #120 of them (which she did), then changed the discharge summary to state that she send me home only on only ibuprofen. She didn't skeletonize the ureters or look for pelvic nerves. She severed my ureter which required a Urology surgeon to repair my ureter and she damaged 4 of my pelvic nerves. I had an infection which was from being taped all around my abdomen and… back with thick tape when I clearly wrote presurgery that I had an allergy to tape and latex. I had severe pain and she sent me home without any nursing care. 12 years later I still pain. She is a liar and will do whatever she has to do to cover her own carelessness. I have heard other horror stories. STAY AWAY. I had to give 1 star for this site to take my review.

Dr. Zakarian has been my OB/GYN for 10+ years and I feel blessed to have found her. She diagnosed things that others have missed in the past. She delivered by C-section, my beautiful healthy little boy. Not to mention, helped me get through some very difficult times in my life. Her and her staff make you feel like family, not just a patient. They truly care for each person that walks through their door. I'll never forget the day her nurse, Becky talked to me on the phone for an hour while I cried my eyes out. Sadly, I no longer live in the area, but find myself making the drive to her office anyways. I can safely say there is no other office like hers and the staff she has!

Procedures were fine, reporting was NOT. Informing and communicating results with patients is virtually nonexistent.

I cannot express in words what a relief it was to find Dr. Zakarian, who was recommended to me by a friend. Dr. Z and her staff are amazing! They spend time answering any questions you may have, do their best to not keep a patient waiting, are empathetic & compassionate, as well as knowledgeable. You'll find the office warm & cozy, the staff friendly, and Dr. Z a gem to have as your Doctor.

After my initial appointment I was asked to return for a follow-up ultrasound. When I showed up for my appointment, I checked in and waited for 45 minutes before being told Dr.Zakarian was actually in an emergency surgery that day. I completely understand the surgery but was upset that they did not call me prior to coming in to let me know my appointment was cancelled and even worse, that they let me sit in the office for 45 minutes before telling me that my appointment was cancelled. I was frustrated but rescheduled the appointment. When I returned I waited for an hour before being seen and by that time it was as though I was being rushed to get my appointment completed. Although the nurse that I saw during my initial appointment was very nice, the nurse who saw me that day, prior to Dr.Zakarian was very ill-mannered. I also had to have medical records sent elsewhere in which I repeatedly had to check up on and was completed two weeks after the request and did not receive test… results from another test that Dr.Zakarian suggested until one month after the test and multiple phone calls of reminding them that I still had not received any information.

I have been seeing Doctor Zakarian for 9 years. She has delivered 3 of my children and has cared for me through many health problems. I now live 8 hours away and still go back every year for my yearly visit, yes, she's that good. I recommend her all the time. Her staff is wonderful and her office is very cozy. I cannot say enough good about her. She is the best Doctor I have ever had.

Excellent, she left no question in my mind about any of my issues. Professional yet compassionate. Her office staff is also profession and caring.

I have been seeing Dr Zarkarian for about 2 years. She is a very concerned and caring doctor. The length of time she takes in making sure that she answers all your questions is more than any doctor that I have had. The time that I have to wait to see is not an issue because I am assuming that she is taking that extra time to make sure all her patients are cared for.
