Dr. Marilu Orozco Peterson, MD

I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Orozco-Peterson, MD and all of the top shelf staff at UCHealth Primary Care Clinic. I was treated with respect and kindness many times over. I would like to give special thanks not only to the doctor but also Carrie, Sandy, Nancy, Stephanie, Lily, Tiffany, Beth, and Tara. I certainly hope I didn't overlook anyone, because all of you are the BEST! It is comforting to know we have such caring individuals in Cheyenne for our healthcare needs.

Dr. Orozco-Peterson has been our family's primary care physician for a dozen years now, and we've had nothing but good experiences! Dr. Peterson has offered us not only exceptional care, but kindness, comfort, and understanding through all of our individual challenges. She is an outstanding doctor, and a phenomenal person!

DR. PETERSON WAS FABULOUS! SHE'S EXTREMELY COMPASSIONATE, BUT VERY SHARP AND FOLLOWS UP WITH YOU. I'M ABOUT 45 MINUTES AWAY, BUT SHE MAKES THE TRIP WORTH IT. I'LL KEEP GOING BACK AS LONG AS SHE IS CLOSE TO WHERE I LIVE!

Literally the worst physician that I have ever had the displeasure of doing medical business with. Dr. Peterson would not listen to the entire problem/reason for your visit before she repeatedly interrupted you with a premature diagnosis of the problem. Once I had hit my left foot so hard against a retaining wall at work that I needed medical attention without the emergency room price, so I elected to schedule a next day visit with her to inspect the damage. Before I was even half way through my explanation of what happened, she told me (a 24 year old vegetarian, sugar free, active male) that I had gout. She then decided that it was necessary that I have a flight of extensive blood work done to reassure her of this diagnosis, only to find out three weeks LATER (excessively long for blood work to be done if you ask me) that she couldn't find out what was wrong. Admittedly, I am no medical practitioner, but a fracture of some sorts would have seemed like a much more viable reason for the… pain and inflammation I was experiencing. Her attitude throughout my multiple visits for this issue was outright rude, disinterested, and paired with a superiority complex the likes of which has no business in a professional medical field. She is awful, even by my lenient standards: I wouldn't recommend her to anyone on any circumstance.

I was surprised to read the negative reviews as my appointment was nothing short of excellent. Dr. Peterson spent plenty of time with me, asked me lots of questions, and seemed to really care about my well being. The front staff was very personable and the nurse that took my weight, blood pressure etc. was super nice and competent as well. Appointment was on time. She is a very competent physician, very knowledgeable, and nice as well. You can tell she loves her profession and cares about her patients. I have always preferred a small practice over a big group of doctors. She practices family medicine over big corporate medicine. Facility looks like it has been update as well. Great experience!

Dr. Peterson did not discuss several tests that she had run, and I had to pay for them because my insurance didn't cover them! How I found out about the tests was when I received the bill from the company that ran the tests! I had to specifically ask for a copy of my blood work; she didn't even give me specifics, just stating that my blood work was "fine." When I had my follow-up visit, she started giving me the wrong patient's report until I inquired what she was talking about. It seems to me that she was all about getting paid and not about actually caring for her patients. I will be transferring to another doctor.

Do not waste your time at this practice! This practice changed a few years ago from Fort Collins Primary Care.. the staff then was exceptional. Now that they have been bought out they are TERRIBLE! The receptionist has a condescending attitude and is far from pleasant. I was seen after a car accident that was not my fault, gave her claim number to file to bill other party and she did not do this which left me with a collection notice. The doctors change every year so don't form a relationship with the one you see because they won't be there next time! This particular doctor charged me $50 because I had to cancel my appointment the day of due to an issue with work. I was told it was a waste of Dr. Peterson's time.. well let me count the times that I have spent waiting in your waiting room for at least 20 minutes to be seen.. that was a waste of my time so what are you going to do to compensate me for wasting my time???!!!

This doctor is absolutely incompetent.

How did she ever get to be a licensed physician. She doesn't listen to her patients and gives you a print out of what could be causing your illness instead of trying to help you. When you tell her that you're really sick, she doesn't listen, Because of her lack of expertise, I have ended up with a life threatening illness that could have been stopped had she listened to me and taken the appropriate action. When I called her office and told her I wanted to speak with her and only her, not her medical assistant, she stated she was too busy and I had to deal with her medical staff. She doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating.
