Dr. Marilyn Louise Curran, MD

Dr. Curran was my Primary Care Physician for three years. My health needs were probably less complicated than others, just a few regular prescriptions and occasional lab tests. Dr. Curran was always extremely kind and caring. She took me seriously when I described symptoms. She worked with me to find prescriptions that are covered at a lower cost with my insurance. I really appreciated her, and I'm only looking for another doctor because I moved across the country.

Dr. Curran was genuinely concerned about me and my health. She listened and repeated what I needed. She actually read through her notes from our last visit and asked questions. She has a gentle voice that makes it as pleasant as a doctors visit can be.

I called to make an appointment as a new patient. The receptionist asked what I needed to be seen for, I stated that I wanted to be seen for a preventive exam and then two related non-preventive things. As the receptionist was making my appointment, she asked what one thing I wanted to be seen for. I told her all things, only to be told the doctor only sees patients for one thing at a time because she only spends 15 minutes with a patient. So, I would have to take time away from work on two days, rather than just one. No way, so I decided I would call another provider that would be able to treat and see all my concerns in one appointment. Luckily, I was able to find another provider and was even able to get in sooner. I really hope this isn't a healthcare model that other providers start to follow. I'm not sure what the benefit is to the provider by only seeing a patient for 15 minutes for one thing, because the provider would have to see me in the following weeks for my other… concerns. It seems like the only one be inconveniencing, is the patient.

I thought she was very nice and very caring. She always went over things with you. She was hard to get into because of working for central city community health and the patient load they have. She was wonderful. Miss having her as a dr since I no longer live in the area. Would recommend her to anyone.
