Dr. Marilyn Cozzens Kessler, MD

I do not recommend. Her personality is about as much as a rock and that even has more personality. I used to work for her years ago and she treated me and some of my help like it was 1800's. It was insufferable. Not a personable person. Find someone who will remember that you visited her and takes time to care about what's going on with you.

Stamford CT office, I was 8months pregnant. Asked to change rooms with no clothes on but a gown, men seeing me from the waiting room. No privacy even when discussing issues in the examing room. Was told may need c-section. Gave birth with 1/2 hour of pushing...not one word from her to me during delivery or when coming to exam me the day after....such an uncomfortinf personality especially to a new mother needed a doctors advice and comforting support. I had picked her as a doctor when I got pregnant..not checking her out. Sad after reading the recent comments she has not changed. New Parents To Be....DO YOUR HOMEWORK!! MEET WITH ANY DOCTOR FIRST BEFORE CHOOSING!!

I almost died from Dr. Kessler. I bled internally for over a week after she delivered my child. After a few days with the excruciating pain, I went to see her and she told me I was fine and that I must have a 'pimple' on my private area and to put a warm washcloth on it. A few days later, I had to have emergency surgery. She then left one of the drains in me - which passed on its own - but still really alarming. After the surgery, I kept encountering former patients or family of patients who said she was a terrible doctor.

I had seen Dr. Kessler for many years when she practiced in Stamford, CT...from at least the late 80's until she moved due to her husband's profession. I always found her bedside manner to be a bit off, but her education and surgical experiences were very good. I had several gynecological problems that she diagnosed and corrected for me. So I took her bedside manner with a grain of salt. She always listened, but often she was late in keeping her appointments, mostly because she was at the hospital delivering babies. Not sure she is the right doctor for you if you want someone more caring or who sees you for who you are.

She did not listen to me and had me follow a course of treatment that did not help my symptoms. I suffered with very uncomfortable symptoms for more than 6 months because I trusted her. Eventually I went to someone else for a second opinion. That doctor listened to what I had to say and treated my problem correctly. I would never recommend Dr. Kessler to anyone.

Dr. Kessler is an example of a woman who had to proove herself. She probably had to fight hard to get where she is as a doctor when most candidates were male. I empathize with her to an extent. There is a huge gap between her medical expertise and her ability to interpret it in a compassionate way. If you can overlook her cold exterior make an appointment. If you want a compassionate listener, then go to someone else. Underneath her cold exterior is a probably a lot of understanding? Pity!

Gave incorrect test results. I would never tell anyone to see Dr. Marilyn Kessler.

This "doctor" is an affront to womanhood. I am a healthcare provider myself. She not only, misdiagnosed me (which caused me great harm and delay of treatment)...but was disrespectful and rude in the process. Unfortunately, she is affiliated with Northwestern Hospital which is the only way I can understand how she even gets to see patients. Please stay far far away from "Dr. Kessler!"

Dr. Kessler is one of the most intelligent and knowledgeable doctors i have had. Her knowledge of women's health issues and research is cutting edg.e Her ability to explain decisions based on this knowledge is levels above other doctors. I trust her and will continue seeing her.

Dr. Kessler has a terrible bedside manner. She is dismissive and rude. Most of all, she has complete disregard for patient privacy. She has a reputation amongst her colleagues as being a bad doctor. She misdiagnosed me. She performed a surgery on me which failed. She blamed me and then offered no further treatment. My condition was treated successfully by another doctor in one office visit. I am still traumatized by my experience with her. It is a shame that she has a medical license. Please, do not see her!!
