Dr. Mayer takes the time to really listen to your concerns.

Discouraged me from continuing with my regular exercise for nebulous reasons I never did understand. Didn't listen. Was not thorough -- seemed to barely listen to the first one or two sentences and then completely tuned out everything else I had to say. Excessive wait times. Did not remember things I'd told her -- and did not have them recorded accurately in her notes. Just did not take the time to listen and understand symptoms. Seemed to leap to conclusions without checking with me, rode right over what I had to say (especially when I tried to point out that assumptions were incorrect), and just generally made me feel hopeless and depressed. I dreaded visits and finally just left.

While I love Dr Mayer and her expertise and her time spent with each patient, her office staff and operations leaves a LOT to be desired. They are never in the office when they state office hours are, they never return from lunch and reopen at 2pm as stated and they are terrible at phone answering, return calls etc. All doctors in this practice would benefit from a complete overhaul of their front office management processes!

Wait is pretty long, but usual for new patients. After that, it is easy to get an appointment as a patient. The staff is very helpful and Dr. Mayer takes time to discuss the problem with you, and answer any questions. You feel like you are her only patient. I appreciate her medical ability and bedside manner very much.

Dr. Mayer has been my PCP for11 years. I'll admit that the waiting time at an appointment may seem excessive but that is because she will take the time to hear you out and respond fully. There is no sense of "Whoops, time's up....gotta' go to the next patient."

I think very highly of her. She is sharp, friendly and spends as much time with you as you need. She thoroughly answers all questions and takes your thoughts into consideration for treatment options. I've been a patient of hers for many years, but now live outside of TX. I still see her though, as my business travels bring me back to TX frequently. She is the best doctor that I have ever had.
