Dr. Marina Barkov, MD

Been seeing Dr Barkov for 8 years. When she wasn't with wellmed all was pretty good. She went with wellmed and all she is concerned about is getting in trouble with her new employer. I've been having issues since my mother passed away. After having anxiety all my life my mom's passing dropped me like a rock. She did try to help me get help but in the mean time having several issues since all my stress was all put off as anxiety. Sure she ran one test it was normal but I still have symptoms. It's all in my head she says. I've used the hospital too many times per her employer wellmed and Everytime she would let me know about it. They don't want you to go to hospital at all. Wellmed is owned by United healthcare and that's the insurance I have. I have a heart problem, had bowel surgery, bariatric surgery and a few other things. Today she came in the room and started hollering at me about going to hospital for my chronic constipation and to find a new Dr. That's what I'm doing now. I'm not… going to stop going to the hospital just because she gets in trouble from her employer Wellmed. A couple other on here are right, if you need a script she's the Dr for you. You need medical care she is not the Dr for you. Her staff is wonderful!! It's ashame you can't be a Dr because of an ins company telling you how to Dr. I hope her or a family member never gets treated the way she treated me. Especially the anxiety I seem I can't get rid of. I truly did like her til now. Shame on you to be scared to be a good Dr because of your employer Wellmed. I hope no one gets hollered at like you did me today.

I lost my insurance do to high insurance cost. I sent in my refill for my medication. Received a call from pharmacy letting me know they refused the refill. I called the dr office and was willing to pay out of pocket for a visit with Dr Barkov so i can continue to get my medication. Office staff called me back telling me They do not take patients who pay out of pocket. I ask what can i do to get the refill until i find another Dr. She was rude and unprofessional. refused to help said it wasn't their problem. WOW!! New Dr's have a 6 month to a year waiting list!!!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE!! they don't care about your health all they care about is over charging your insurance company so they can make money. If Dr Barkov was such a caring Dr why would she put a pt in a danger situation leaving them with no medications.

caring, thorough, and smart. She LISTENS. She does not rush you in and out. She goes over test results and will answer any questions you have until you completely understand. Every time she has had to recommend a specialist, they are top notch. I have now been seeing her for about 7 years, and I have never been disappointed.

Smart and caring doctor who doesn't rush you in and out of appointments. She gives quality care and is happy to give referrals to specialists. All her referrals have been amazing doctors as well. And the front desk staff is amazing.

All I can say is Dr. Marina Barkov is absolutely fantastic! Both my husband and I went to a previous doctor who over medicated us and never look at other possibilities. Dr. Barkov is an amazing doctor, diagnosed us promptly, took care with regulating our medications, is a great listener, the best doctor in the St. Pete area!!!

Dr. Barkov is one of most caring doctors it has been my experience to deal with. She listens to you and does not talk down to you. She truly cares to do what is right for you, despite insurance attorneys or what ever other influence there is. The office isn't beautiful nor is the reception area but the doctor, and the staff are wonderful and make up for. Do you want a beautful building,impressive waiting area or a wonderful Doctor and staff. I would reccommend Dr. Barkov to any and everyone.

Dr. Barkov is a good doctor who really cares. Her office staff could use a little help but otherwise it is a great office.
