Dr. Marinely Cruz-Amy, MD

I have MDS, blood cancer. Dr. Cruz stormed into my hospital room and told me I am very sick and she will not let me slip through the cracks. Then I remembered her from another time, she had devastated me! Then she walked out of my room and I never saw her again! She’s crazy!

She was my mother’s doctor and happend to be the doctor oncall the weekend after my mother’s first chemo treatment. My mother was in excruciating pain and I called and left an urgent message with the service for the doctor. We didn’t know if my mother was able to take Tylenol and I wanted to check. 15 minutes later, I called again and waited. Another 15 minutes later and still no call back so needless to say I was getting very upset. Called AGAIN and they put me on hold to try and reach the dr on the other line & nothing. The operator was so sympathetic and apologized and promised to do her best to help. Almost ONE HOUR LATER I called again and pleaded that they call the dr on call again or I would have to go to the ER. They put me on hold and finally got the dr on the phone via three way call and much to my surprise it was my mother’s very own oncologist! I was borderline irate at this point and in complete disbelief of her response time especially for HER own patient. It took her… ONE HOUR to return an ONCALL call that took all of one minute for her to say yes or no! Needless to say we were grossly disappointed and I’d hate to see how she treats the patients that are not her own. There’s a lot more I could say from her unprofessional appearance to her obviously money hungry attitude, basically scanning through my mother’s osteoporosis treatment which was an added pay check. Had it not been for the fact that my mother had already started treatment we wouldn’t have left that office. The saving grace where the nurses who where kind, compassionate and took the time to address and explain any concern my mother had. Stay clear of this dr if you’re in the Treasure Coast or Orlando area. It was very evident to me that her job is routine and a cash cow.
