Dr. Mario Andres Cristancho, MD

Completely arrogant and refuses to treat simple depression; convinced of alternative diagnosis even when told by the psychologist coworker that sees the patient 2-3 x per week that he is wrong based on ten minutes ever 2-3 months.

I waited 7-8 weeks for an appointment, and then Dr. Christancho spent 10 minutes with me and literally got up and walked out while I was still asking questions, saying "I have to go, I have another patient to see." He seemed knowledgeable during the 10 minutes he spoke with me, but as a result of this and other bad experiences there, I would never go back to Penn Behavioral Health.

He changed over the years; this is the kindest way of putting it. At the advice of his colleagues I finally changed to another physician outside of the practice for medication management. Very disappointing. The details would read like fiction.

He is brilliant, compassionate, empathetic, and has been the first psychiatrist in 30 years who truly has razor sharp knowledge and is truly helping me. He has a lot of wisdom and great insights. He is kind and focused and makes you feel like you are the most important person in the world. He is so caring it almost makes me cry with relief to find someone like him after a lifetime of psychiatrists who really didn't get it. Whenever I think there is nothing more he can do to top himself he always does. I can't believe a psychiatrist like this is even real. I am so lucky and I am grateful every second for him.
