Dr. Mario Arturo Martinez, MD

This doctor’s office has treated my family and I okay throughout the years here at the Portland, Tx. location. Most recently though, they have unfortunately declined in their bedside manner and have degraded in the caliber of staff they hire. The woman at the front office that answers the phones at the Portland office is the rudest person I have ever encountered in an office. She has absolutely no regard for anyone’s time nor she does she does have the empathy and knowledge needed to be working in any type of healthcare field involving caring for anyone not even as phone clerk. She breathes like a bull over the phone as if you are intrusively interrupting her day even though she has a job to be there for you as a patient. She was so disrespectful and belligerent, definitely a person you do no want to speak with while you are in pain and desperate for help and in terrible pain the way my 61 year dad is right now. It’s so unfortunate to have an office that treats people this way in… our beautiful town. Dr. Martinez, as a patient that has spent a great deal of time and money with your offices, I recommend that you please hire people of better caliber to work and run your offices. -Respectfully

Horrible experience., very very Rude low excuse of a Dr . Both the staff as well as the MD are a bunch of incompetent medical group that only knows how to charge you . You have to be your own advocate , verify your own appointment and still at that find out there staff still made a mistake but sure wanted to bill and coinsurance of 20% and was told it is what it is by Dr Martinez . Low excuse of a MD. Save yourself the time and look up a different MD please .

I don’t know what’s going on but been calling every day and have not any luck in speaking to someone about my shoulder. I wish someone from any of the locations could answer their phone.

I’ve been a patient for years and now they are telling me that I have to wait to verify insurance and have had the same insurance for years. And after the lady closes door I hear them talking about me that I should have a appointment but then they should say they take walk ins. And don’t be talking about me after you close window?? And they are not doing sh.. just BSing so the morel of the story is they just didn’t want to work.

I have been with Dr. Mario A Martinez since 2007 and am a retired Navy man. I n my opinion he is the very BEST doctor I have every had and believe me during my life time I have seen many. Doctor Martinez is very through, very personable and cares 100% about the patient. I would recommend him to anyone that wants the very best medical doctor! Paul

I had an appointment to both become a new patient (for persistent back pain) and also get a COVID test per my boss's request. (1) It was not explained to me that the blood test was an antibody test for someone RECOVERED from COVID. (2) When Dr Martinez entered the room (remember, brand new patient), he asked his staff one question -- "Is he here for COVID testing or as a patient" -- and after they answered that I wanted to be seen for persistent back pain, the Dr answered his phone, spoke to someone on the phone about notaries and a property that he wanted to purchase, and left the room. (3) I was called a week later and told that I was positive for COVID. I had to call back MULTIPLE times to figure out how to get a physical copy of results for work. (4) I couldn't log in online to get those results because they had misspelled BOTH my first and last names... even though they had my state ID, debit card for payment, and my insurance card to reference. (5) I finally went back to the… Drs office in-person to get my results, WHICH WERE NEGATIVE FOR COVID. It would be impossible to make me feel comfortable enough to return there or trust the information I would be given.

I could not be HAPPIER!!! I got filler today in my cheek area (the area closest to my nose) because that area had recessed. I'm 46 so it's definitely a result of aging and volume loss. Anyway, I was so nervous, heart beating out of my chest, but he's such a nice doctor and seems very experienced so I felt a little more calm right before he started. The injections took about 5 minutes and was completely painless!! It has only been about an hour since my injections, but already I am LOVING the results!! I have run from mirror to mirror where the lighting is bad to check my results and I literally start giggling because I'm so happy to have my old (younger looking) face back!!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Martinez for about six years now. He has helped me control my diabetes. I just feel like people are always so negative just for one little mistake the office makes people want to give them bad reviews nobody’s perfect it could happen at any doctors office. I know they have improved there wait time.

My room was given to another patient I had to pee in a cup and the restroom I went to had someone else’s cup of pee waiting there. I’ve made a complaint to the board this is unacceptable!!!

did some labs needed them sent to my doctor in S.A they are a month late and nothing still call to talk to someone no one answers the phone am going to have to go in person and take my labs in person this crazy. I will never go back.
