Dr. Mario Machad Oliveira

I have known Dr. Oliveira for about 40 years. He is just about the best neurologist in the USA. I hated to read the cry baby reviews that some losers have posted.

I was evaluated by Dr Oliveira one week before HIPPA laws were passed. I asked him permission to record our visit. When I requested a copy of the report he sent to the insurance company, he initially refused. When HIPPA passed, I obtained a copy against his wishes. The report was COMPLETELY different than what he and I discussed on the recording. It was derogatory, unprofessional, inaccurate and contained almost no clinical evidence. If I hadn't been struggling with recovery, I would have pushed to have his license revoked. I did not pursue the issue later because I heard he had retired. Apparently that is not the case. Once the problem was diagnosed it became clear that he simply had no clue and was not even in the ballpark. I would avoid Dr Oliveira at all costs.

Dr. Oliveira was very knowledgable and compassionate. I was very confident in his diagnosis and he made me feel much better about the procedure I will be having and my chances for full recovery. I would highly recommend him to anyone. His office staff is also very friendly and helpful.

I had suffered with severe migrain headaches since the onset of puberty and not one Dr. Had ever bothered to sit down with me and actually explain to me what and why I was suffering these. He also got me off the common/ popular drug prescribed to treat these and got me on a regiment so that I wouldn't have to suffer these with the frequency I had been- thank God for Dr. O.

Dr. Oliveira is an arrogant man who treated me with such disrespect. He would not listen to any of my complaints nor did he get an accurate history of my headaches because he wouldn't listen. He didn't want to see the headache log I had been keeping for the past month. He belittled me through out the appointment. If he didn't like the answer to a question he would ask again and tell me how to answer it. He couldn't remember things I had told him 15 minutes later. I was in tears because I was so fustrated with him, he then asked how long I had been depressed. He wanted to prescribe steriods for my headaches. When my hour appointment was up I was asked to leave because he had other patients to see, even though I was still crying. He is a quack and needs to have his medical license revoked!

I had one appointment with Dr. Oliveira and he was one the most knowledgeable, insightful, and genuine doctors I've ever seen. He spent over an hour with me and really went above and beyond in every aspect of the visit.
