Dr. Marisa Ann Schmitt, MD

Brought my mother to Dr. Schmitt for a second opinion regarding an ankle issue. She was patient, organized, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and had a great bedside manner. She did a thorough exam and listened to us attentively when we were discussing the symptoms. She was able to give us a diagnosis and treatment plan that made sense. We are very glad we saw her and would highly recommend her to other patients.

We found the doctor unorganized and mumbling to herself. She had a hard time finding the patient's name and xray in the system. It seemed a challenge for the doctor to read the xray and she said she never saw a case like this before, but she didn't think it required surgery. She called for outside help and was told to put the patient in a cast which she did, but didn't say how to take care of it etc., referred the patient to another doctor said good luck and walked out. We on our own found a very good surgeon (2 surgeons recommended surgery) who said any orthopedist should have been able to fix this problem and they couldn't believe that cast hadn't fallen off yet. Bottom line, we had no confidence in Dr. Schmitt but we give her a lot of credit for knowing her limits and referring the patient out of her practice.
