Dr. Marissa Renee Hamrick, MD

Even though she sees many people a day and is always busy, she does her best to listen to you with understanding and compassion. She is easy to talk to as well as answers questions and concerns thoroughly. Highly recommend if you are LGBT+ as well.

Would not recommend. Needed a referral for a specialist. She pushed back on needing to see the specialist (as if she was the expert on this particular part of my body) and wanted me to do physical therapy instead. Sorry, but you are internal medicine, not a specialist. After giving me the run around, I ended up needing to see the specialist anyway and she submitted the referral. The specialist was not allowed to order tests until after the first appointment, so to save time and multiple appointments, the specialist recommended that my PCP order an MRI. This would have enabled me to go to my first appointment with the specialist and have my MRI results in hand so that he could give me a proper diagnosis. Dr. Hamrick refused to order the MRI. Even her nurse at Greater Roslindale Medical Center didn’t understand why. I’m pretty sure it was because of her bruised ego and my insistence that I go to a specialist to begin with. I ended up having to go to the specialist, then getting the MRI,… then going back to the specialist for my results - a second expensive specialist visit that could have been avoided had Dr. Hamrick cared a little more about her patient. No, she acted like SHE was the specialist and tried to diagnose. Just all around a complete headache all while I was in a significant amount of pain. Avoid her at all costs!

she is brilliant and so smart, only one think I wish if she doesn't have to have a lot of patient because sometimes I fell like she don't have enough time to listen

She is brilliant , compassionate

Dr. Hamrick is a great Dr I put my life in her hands.
