I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Tenenbaum and her staff at Washington University. The staff were available for questions pre-op as well as post-op AND they made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Tenebaum herself was AMAZING! She took time to answer all my questions and her skills as a surgeon are top notch! Hands down some of the best work that I have seen for what I had done. I highly recommend her AND I trust her!

Hard to believe she trained in reconstructive surgery after the mess she made of my post-mastectomy reconstruction. I am eternally grateful to the surgeon who was willing to attempt to fix her disaster. Many were honest and said that they didn’t think that they could tackle the damage she perpetrated on me.

Referred to her by my surgical oncologist, I thought that I was going to at least get a somewhat normal appearance. Never did I expect to look like a freak after reconstruction. Luckily, I found a surgeon at Mercy who was able to repair most of the damage. The best shot is the first one, but I am grateful that I found someone willing to take on Marissa Tenenbaum's disaster. Other doctors were mortified and told me that they didn't think that they could fix her destruction.

Dr. Tenenbaum and her entire team was amazing. From the moment I met with Kristi for an-initial consultation to after my procedure. I couldn’t be happier. The entire team was very communicative, responsive, supportive and encouraging. I am very happy with my Body Contouring results. I love LOVE the way my body looks. It’s a big deal to make a decision and an investment in yourself to have plastic surgery. If you are considering this - I highly recommend Dr. Tenenbaum and her team. She is passionate about what she does and will ensure you are happy with your results!

My post-mastectomy reconstruction was botched by Marissa Tenenbaum. She decided to implant torpedoes (I specified that I didn’t want to be bigger than I was prior to the mastectomy). Not only did they cause pain, made me feel like my skin was tearing, hurt my shoulders from the weight of the boulders, but they also looked ridiculous. Thankfully, I found a true reconstructive surgeon to repair her damage. I was told that she didn’t anchor them properly. I required two additional corrective surgeries. Shame on her.

This "surgeon" botched my post-mastectomy reconstruction. To add insult to injury, she was nasty at my postop visit. Thankfully, I found another surgeon with far superior skills to repair the damage she inflicted on me. Run, don't walk.

Disastrous breast reconstruction after double mastectomy. She didn’t listen to me, gave me large implants despite my explicit request for small breasts. Moreover, I was disfigured, the large implants were rippled, they hurt because she didn’t provide support so that I felt as though I was tearing…she didn’t care that she disfigured me, was nasty when I told her that I was unhappy. It took two surgeries to repair the damage she had done by stretching my skin and injuring my pectoral muscles from the weight of the implants. Im just grateful that I found a surgeon willing to attempt to salvage my body image as several surgeons I saw were appalled by what she did to me. This woman has no right to do reconstructive surgery as she is entirely unskilled.

I think she did a really nice job with the overall aesthetics of the procedures; size & placement. However, my scaring under my breasts is pretty bad. I know a lot of friends and family that have had breast augmentations and their scars are nearly invisible. Mine are pretty thick. You can slightly see them without lifting up my breasts (a little shadow of them), but they are undeniably there when I lift my breasts. It makes me a little self-conscious, but nothing compared to how I felt without the implants. I'm still happy with the way they look, but the scars have been a disappointment. It's been 3.5 years so I'm pretty sure this is just the way it is. If you go to Dr. Tenenbaum, maybe just emphasize your concern for scarring to make sure she focuses on minimizing it.

I suffered at the hands of this terrible surgeon. Moreover, she was not interested in hearing about my dissatisfaction with my post-mastectomy reconstruction. I’ve seen other bad reviews of her ineptitude on this site as well as others. I’ve also read the positive reviews which read as though written by the same person (friends?family?). Anyway, be careful; if you let her operate on you, I hope that you won’t have to endure the physical pain and disfigurement that I did... Many of us who have been unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with cancer don’t want to discuss it, but I feel it is my obligation to warn potential patients of her incompetence. Be well.
