I was in the cardiology floor at Rose medical from january 5 -8 for observation for newly diagnosed congestive heart problem. I left never seeing Ms Malababan nor having any discssion with a cardiologist regarding the wearing of a zoll life vest. two days after I returned, a representive from Zoll called and wanted to come visit me in my hom with a vest for me to wear. I had never heard of the vest but allowed her to come in. I told her I would never wear it and to take it back. She never told me the cost and left it with me to take to ups with the already printed label. turned out even with insurance paying, the cost per month was so high I would be left with a 555.25 copay. When I called Zoll this morning to complain, I was told that the vest was ordered by Marjerie Malabanan whom I had never seen. Why or how a PA whom i never met or heard of got involved in writing an order for a life vest - which my cardiologist said I never needed when I asked him - is a mystery. Happily,… when I made it clear that I had never worn the vest, had no knowledge of it being ordered for me had returned it in two days after the zoll rep left and thus would not pay, they waived the cost. Zoll has an disputable way of doing business if you read the BBB reviews. Ms Malabanan might be on the zoll payroll to write orders, I dont know. But what she did is certainly dishonest.
