Dr. Mark A. Berk, MD

Very disappointed. I previously saw Dr. Berk and his remedy was only partially successful. Over a year later, I had another issue and reluctantly went to see him. His remedy was not successful at all so I called the office and related the issue to the desk woman, asking if he could prescribe something else or should I come in to see him. She said she would have one of the medical staff contact me. No one called me. After two days, I called again and left a message requesting a call back. After one week, no one ever called. I will be returning to a previous dermatologist which is disappointing since Dr. Berk is very close to my home. Since his remedies don't work and there is absolutely no follow up, I would not recommend him or that office.

If you are looking to wait a half hour in a waiting room to be taken back to an examination room to wait another half hour to see Dr. Berk - than this is your guy. On top of that his nurse/assistant is rude. I left the office without seeing Dr. Berk. I too have time commitments. I heard multiple patients check-in for the same appointment time (mine being one of them). He double and triple books for his selfish convenience. That's simply inconsiderate. When I left his office the waiting area had at least 10 people waiting. I am /was a patient of his - however not any longer. I understand there are emergencies...but this Doctor creates the waiting problem. Stay away unless you enjoy waiting around and have nothing else to do.

The reception staff was fine but the doctor was awful. I wish I could give negative points in the survey. He was very rushed, disrespectful of personal space. He use to come so close to me right in my face even when he is not examining me. He didn't listen to my problem well and acted like as if he didn't care. He spent less than 5 mins talking to me and was not interested in listening to my questions. Never have I met with a doctor who is so unprofessional. I would never go back or even stop people going to Dr. Berk. I think he needs to back his bag and retire.

I wish I could give them a zero. My husband went to them about a growth on his nose. They did a biopsy and said to just watch it. Never let anyone tell you to "just watch it" when it comes to your nose. The growth reappeared about a month after the biopsy and they continued to say just watch it. Months went by and continued this line. Then he goes in almost a year later and they suddenly said you need Mohs surgery. Come to find out having basal cell on your nose is the worst because of your delicate nasal passages etc. The roots of the growth can be deep. Three other doctors (other practices) were shocked when we showed them the biopsy report that we were not counseled to have Mohs surgery immediately. He just had surgery through another office (because he doesn't trust Dr. Mark Alan Berk and his assistant) and it was a huge surgery. He has several lines of stitches and will take up to a year to heal. The hole in his nose was so large they had to do a flap. Don't go to this… practice for anything to do with growths.

Dr. Berk found a Melanoma that other doctors missed. If I wouldn’t have gone to Dr.Berk I wouldn’t be here right now. Knowledgeable, kind and caring! The best dermatologist in Chicago.

I cannot say enough about Dr Berk. He spotted a small lesion on my face and new even before the pathology report came back what type of cancer it was. He removed it from my face and I do not even have a scar. He is awesome. I have been seeing him almost since he opened his office in Lake Forest. An Evcellent Dr.

Dr Berk is not that good of a Dr, he missed a skin cancer on my husband. Dr Dillig is much better. Also, Dr Berk always runs late and seems rushed, not my kind of Dr!!!!

1) Zero respect for patient time. I visited his office two times and in both instances had to wait more than an hour. 2) He will cut everything off you for biopsy whether or not he thinks there is a chance of malignancy. In my opinion he does this to create fees. 3) He misdiagnosed a very basic skin issue as psoriasis without ever asking me if there was a family history or looking at the rest of my body to see if I had anything remotely like psoriasis. I went to another doctor and got an appropriate diagnosis. 4) he doesn't explain well and expects that patients should accept that he knows best.

They care nothing of other people's time. I mean Nothing!!! Then try to upsell you expensive skin care products. I hate this office!

Dr. Berk's booking policy is horrible. I waited an hour to be seen, only to have an asst. work on me and to see Dr. Berk for 2 minutes.
