Psychotherapy is a powerful process by which we can learn about the ways we have attempted to manage difficult circumstances, feelings, and conflicts through the lens of our current experiences and relationships. I introduce psychotherapy as an opportunity for individuals to discover and understand their own narrative of how and why they came to be who they are. This often provides valuable information about how we might meet present day challenges across the broad demands of everyday life. I am a psychodynamic psychologist who uses insight-oriented and relational therapy techniques to facilitate and accomplish the work of therapy. When appropriate, I may suggest and introduce the use of specific techniques from other theoretical orientations as a means of helping an individual manage particularly disruptive symptoms or to reduce one's overall difficulty engaging in vital life pursuits.
