Dr. Mark Frederick Clapper

While this pompous azz was setting my wrist he botched it and I lost use of my are.

Lateral meniscus surgery yesterday so far so good..surgey was smooth visit prior was educated about everything..waited about 11days for the surgry after the 1st visit

He is a pompous *%#. I was a college athlete and he scolded me for wanting to push myself to return to my former physical ability. Then he proceeded to put the wrong screw in my foot twice causing pain, emotional distress and ultimately causing me to redshirt a season. He also wouldn't release me to a nother Dr. that new what I needed. Dr. Paul Murphy put the right screw in my foot and saved my college career. I am still as able as ever 15 years later, no thanks to Clapper..

Dr. Clapper has performed surgery on me and a few of my family members with excellent results! His professionalism and helpfulness were impeccable each time! He cares about helping his patients get well! My family thinks the world of Dr. Clapper! He went out of his way to help me when no one would!

Dr. Clapper was continuously rude and dismissive and generally unpleasant from the get-go. But lousy bedside manner didn't matter much to me as long as he was a good surgeon. The doctor was all-business and overbearing in the pre-op area and operating room, acting like an ultimate dictator and with strict military style control and demand for respect. He truly is, or was the head doctor and he had a long-term reputation among the staff as a harsh authoritarian. His underlings fear and respect him, for whatever reasons. But again, that drill sergeant attitude is fine with me, as long as it produces positive results. I am taking the time to write this report because it is vitally important that people realize the genuine mistreatment they could be subjected to if they choose to allow this doctor to partake in their medical care. My truthful and provable complaints about Dr, Clapper are as follows: He performed an outpatient surgery on me that was quickly obvious to be… unsuccessful. I soon had more pain, swelling and disability than before he performed the procedure. I was not angry by this disappointment, and was very willing to concede that nobody's perfect and to give him another chance to get it right. I called his office, many many times and left him many many messages and he never returned a single message. He ignored me for many many weeks, and my symptoms got worse and worse. It was obvious that I needed immediate medical attention, yet he would not work me into his full schedule to see me. He ignored me in every way, caused my medical condition to escalate, and also told other doctors, nurses and Member Services that "nothing was wrong with me". Even though he had not seen me, spoke with me, evaluated me, he had the disgusting dishonest and dishonorable gall to refuse me my needed medical care and then lie about it. He refused to acknowledge failure, refused to act responsibly, and he caused me extra pain and grief in doing so. I was finally provided another doctor who could see me and it was so obvious that I was in need of urgent surgery to correct an immediate problem. I had the surgery by a different doctor, and the pain and debility was exacerbated unnecessarily for months due to one man, Dr. Clapper! To this day Dr. Clapped has still never responded to any of the many pleas for help and messages I sent to him, and he has NEVER APPOLOGIZED for the damage he caused. Dr. Clapper should have been suspended temporarily for his terrible mistreatments and malpractice, but he should have been FIRED for lying about his unthinkable deeds.

Did not accurately diagnose my knee problem and therefore the surgery was not a success. He was cutting costs but not doing an MRI because he was arrogant and "knew" what the problem was but didn't know what the problem was. I will have to have another surgery due to his mis-diagnosis.

Dr. Clapper was affable and professional. I never had to wait too long to see him. My surgery went smoothly and the experience was as comfortable as could be expected. I would highly recommend him as a skilled surgeon and professional doctor

This physician demeanor was quite indifferent and dismissive. Instead of offering potential solutions, I was told to just wait until I was older and have a knee replacement. He was willing to do surgery, but stated that he believed it would do little to relieve my torn meniscus because of existing arthritis. At this point, I would want him to do the surgery and he has convinced me its time to switch HMO's.

He is very rude and unprofessional.
