Dr. Mark Ike Debruin, DO

I tried to call for an appointment for two days. What on earth do people do to just get a person to answer? I have been an patient for about 24 years and he has been a great doctor - but this is the worst as regards getting an appointment set. Not like him. Only thing left is to physically drive to the clinic and get a live person. Have changes taken place I am not aware of - or something? Gillian Eppinette

The worst doctor I have ever been too. Arrogant, zero bedside manner, and he does not listen to what you tell him. It is evident he does not care. All he wants is you to come back for unnecessary visits. And he is old school having thousands of paper files in his office. He does not believe in technology that has made significant advancements for improving healthcare.

I have been a patient of Dr. DeBruin for about 2 years now. I have been reading all the comments below about Dr. DeBruin trying to find the best words to express my feelings about him and about his medical staff. Patients writing anything derogatory about his office staff, (especially Denise), are just flat out lying, in my opinion! As for Dr. DeBruin, let me tell you my experience. I personally like getting in and out of my appointments with ANY doctor as fast as I can, but for any patient to say he doesn't care, or he herds you in and out, or that he doesn't listen to you, they are angry about not getting what they wanted from him, a prescription he felt they didn't need, or maybe wanted him to falsify a note for their job, etc. Those patients came in for an alternative motive. That is my personal opinion. Dr. DeBruin removed a mole from my back, it turned out to be melanoma, he made sure I was referred to the best dermatologist in this area, Denise, in the front office, contacted… and set up my referral to a dermatologist surgeon, I am happy to say I am cancer free. Last week I was so sick and went to a clinic because it was a Saturday where they diagnosed me with a bad chest cold, without giving me a chest x-ray. They did prescribe me with medication but it didn't seem to be helping. My monthly appointment with Dr. DeBruin was that next Wednesday. He saw how sick I was just by looking at me, he called his medical assistants in and had them give me a chest x-ray, (that he has in his office), said I had pneumonia, told me to discontinue the meds I got from the clinic, prescribed me medication he had in his office, (and that was nice because the thought of going anywhere else that day wasn't going to happen), and I am now well and quit smoking! My point is this, Dr. DeBruin is a great doctor, but if you go in to his office looking for what you think YOU need, he may not agree with you, he has a job to do, it is to make sure you are healthy, and doing the best that you can do. Everything else he provides is a plus, the x-ray machine in the office, medicines, cosmetic procedures, weight loss, etc. So people, if you are looking for an awesome doctor, medical assistants, & office staff, go to DeBruin Medical Center in Orangevale. Won't be going back.. Felt hurried, not interested in finding out about me.. More interested in trying to sell me other services Fillers etc. Thank goodness I was not suffering from depression!

I am a new patient at Debruin Medical Center, a friend of mine recommend his practice. My experience was more than satisfactory. I was greeted by Dr. Debruin's very hospitable staff of which were able to answer my questions and concerns effectively. Upon meeting with Dr. Debruin for my initial consultation he demonstrated a vast amount of knowledge and he was straight forward in telling me what o needed to hear not what I wanted to hear about my health. I'm currently scheduled for structures visits to address my health issues and feel very good about moving forward. Highly recommend Debruin Medical Center

Dr. Debruin has been our family Dr. since moving to El Dorado Hills, 1999. Our entire families Dr, 5 Kids. Now our grandchildren living here in the area are under his care. Not to Say we haven’t some medical scares, but the Dr on top of it and referred to the specialist. We highly recommend our Dr. DeBruin.

He does not know how to treat a person with hypothyroidism. I felt terrible and asked to go to a specialist and he said no that he could help me. I went to another dr that sent me to a specialist and she gave me the OPPOSITE medication that Dr Debruin was giving me! I cannot recommend him.

this man not dr. handed me over basically my death certificate after one of his workers had the audacity to tell me to go back to my old dr. ( who was dr. cooper and abounded me) thus sending me to this guy who i just cant even put into words...needing ongoing treatment for anxiety he hands me a paper and tells me to go kick rocks and that i need to get good a doctor shopping.

I feel blessed and assured I have top of the line care with Dr. Mark Debruin at the DeBruin Medical Center along with his outstanding team and staff, which includes top PA JoAnn Friedrich. It is clear to me from my own medical problems the Doctor leaves no stones un-turned in assessing and addressing a medical issue. Dr. Debruin doesn't mince words; he is very direct and will make every effort to zero in on any medical problem. I've noted he has encouraged exercise and looking to eating habits before putting me on a regime of pills for a few of my problems and has had me come back for the results of how this alternate course of action is working out. I really appreciate that Dr Debruin looks at the full scope in trying to access and target medical needs and doesn't rule out the more alternate approach and natural ways when reasonable to find solutions. When further outside investigation was needed and referral out was the route to go, Dr. Debruin lined me up with top-notch Doctors… and specialists. I also appreciate the Wellness Management Program where I often get a call back after a visit to see how I'm doing. I could never ask for a warmer, more attentive, competent staff and team than at the office of Dr. Mark Debruin. I would recommend Dr Debruin to anyone who wants a Doctor and medical Center staff that is really committed to giving full attention to their health needs and having the peace of mind one is being directed on a course of action that targets and answers their medical needs. Dr Debruin has been my primary physician since I relocated from the Bay Area back in the 90's. The Dr and his team have been consistently outstanding in all aspects. They know and greet me by name. My appointments are easily scheduled, and when I show up I'm seen promptly. Discussions on health topics are made easy by the professional and personable staff. Insurance issues are a non-issue. And the flexibility with appointments or other issues is always there. I've changed employers several times over the years, and my #1 criteria has always been to make sure the Dr Debruin is in the network. Because I will be his patient for life. Thanks Mark and team!!
