Dr. Mark Andrus Flood

I had a great experience with this doctor. He is knowledgeable and skillful. He listened my concerns carefully not any other doctors, and did perform a great surgery on me. No more sciatica that I suffered almost for a year.

Dr. Mark Flood is the one of best surgeons to treat spinal problems. He treated his patients as his family and performed thorough exams every visit. I was always welcomed and felt comfortable discussing my back issue to him. I feel great now with no more back issue!

Delayed this review as I wanted to give the procedure some time to assess results.. Hurt my back in the military and was told that I needed spinal fusion (ALIF surgery) and that that was my only option. "I am terrified of Doctors!" Prescribed several narcotic medications to ease the pain, but to no avail. Drove to work one day after my painkiller cocktail in late 2017 and could not recall how I got there. Then I asked my family practice doctor for a laser spine consult. Went to Laser Spine Institute in Tampa, and met with Dr. Flood. Dr. Flood performed laser surgery on me and was able to resolve most of my problems, except my sciatica. His staff was attentive, kind and helpful. Most important, they prayed with me prior to the procedure, which put my mind and spirit at ease!

I spent almost a decade with severe back pain. I have had every pain treatment known to man. Other spine surgeons told me that they could not help me short of a fusion. Dr. Flood took away my back pain without doing a fusion. He is amazing!

Dr. Flood apparently still works at LSI, maybe the Okla. City location. Everything I can find on him says he is licensed in TX., not OK where he was about to perform surgery on me. There was a disagreement amoung the team of Drs at LSI over my treatment. I have lost faith in them. I will find another practice to repair my back!!

I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Flood to anyone with back issues. Not only is he a fine, meticulous, and talented surgeon, he runs a very professional practice. His staff members are polite and professional; they return phone calls promptly, and they project an attitude of genuine caring toward their patients. So often, the modern medical establishment seems like a revolving door, with patients being processed rather than treated. There is too much emphasis on volume, and too little on seeing patients as individuals seeking help. At Dr. Flood's office, you will be taken seriously, as an individual seeking medical help, and I have no doubt Dr. Flood will do his utmost to do what doctors are supposed to do: bring reassurance, knowledge, and most of all, healing to their patients.Now, eight months after the surgery, I am PAIN FREE! Also, though Im not a vain person and am more likely to be seen in a T- shirt than a bikini, I want to mention that the scar from the surgery is… practically invisible. Less than an inch acrossjust a little line, really. It makes me wonder if Dr. Flood minored in plastic surgery!My local doctor has since patients to Dr. Flood, and they too have been as pleased as I am with the level of treatment provided by Dr. Flood and his staff.

I was told I needed a fusion and that that was my only option. Then I found Dr. Flood. Dr. Flood performed laser surgery on me and was able to fix my problems. I feel great. I got my life back. His staff has always been very kind and very helpful!

When Dr. Flood operated to repair a herniated disk, he removed all the cushion between the disks. Post surgery in about a month after the surgery, I was back in pain again. Took me 5 months to get an appointment with Dr. Flood who told me it was scar tissue pressing on the nerve. Send me to a pain specialist. After 3 months the pain specialist recommended I see Dr. Flood again. When I called for an appointment, was told they could not help me, see another doctor. The new doctor showed me that the disks had collapsed and were pressing bone on bone with the sciatic nerve between them. I needed a back fusion. Dr. Flood should not have taken all the cushion out between the disks without putting the pins in to hold the disks apart. Caused me lots of extra pain and suffering plus a lot of money.Would not recommend this doctor to anyone.
