Dr. Mark A Freeborn, MD

Dr. Freeborn was excellent. He was awesome, explained what things meant and was very thoughtful from the first consultation, surgery, post-op follow up, and rehab etc. Huge thank you to him and every single staff member from front desk staff members to MAs, schedule coordinator/MA Anne, PA-C Jennifer, ARNP Melissa NP in his office. He is a great surgeon and I can't thank him and all the spinal surgery team staff enough. Thanks to him and his staff, I am excitedely ready to go back to work soon.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Dr. Freeborn saved my life. I was in horrible crippling pain with a complete rupture in my spine. This was my 2nd back surgery and this go around was so much easier, less painful and I felt like Dr. Freeborn really cared about me. My only concern is that whomever does his paperwork for MRI pre approval and surgery scheduling is a flake, her actions delayed my surgery.

Would not reccomend.

We have taken my son to Dr. Freeborn for two separate spinal issues. This first one, about 4 years ago, we had an amazing experience! Dr. Freeborn was thoughtful, kind and spent a lot of time with us. The second time, just recently, was for a much more serious injury. We felt like a number being moved through. Dr. Freeborn did explain the injury very well, but felt like he had one foot out the door moving on to the next patient. The pain my son was feeling was never addressed other than "the only way we can probably fix it is surgery since PT hasn't helped". No suggestion/referral of a pain specialist. We finally called to see what could be done for his pain and they prescribed my teenage son narcotics and it took over 36 hours to get a response from his MA and then 72 hours before we could pick up the prescription. Since merging and combining offices with Orthopedics International and becoming Pro-Ortho, the level of caring and time spent with patients has plummeted, though… the doctors and staff are still very knowledgeable and great surgeons, we are disappointed in how little they now seem to care about my son as an individual. We left and went to another doctor at Swedish.

Please pass this on to Dr. Freeborn, as I never lost confidence in his skill and care as a surgeon and his personal interaction. Also, my appreciation to the great work of the anesthesiologist, and all the support nursing and staff at the hospital and your Proliance offices.

I needed a revision to my original back surgery. He came highly recommended. This surgery has been completely different - and much better to come back from than the first. He's great!
