Dr. Mark Heffington

If we are lucky in our lifetimes, we can discover an amazing physician who displays the kind of patient care we all desire and need. Indeed, Dr. Mark W. Heffington, of Mebane Primary Care, is such a physician. My initial visit with Dr. Heffington set the optimistic tone for future visits. When Dr. Heffington entered the room, he exuded a sense of welcome, friendliness, and care that took the nervous edge off my mind. He introduced himself by extending his hand firmly, with a warm genuine smile. Then, he said something amusing that made me laugh. In a few minutes, I immediately let my guard down and felt I could trust him with my healthcare needs. Since that initial visit, I have found Dr. Heffington to be an exceptional physician. He is a considerate and attentive listener who listens patiently and without interruption, until I am finished discussing my health concerns. When discussing my problems, he maintains good eye contact, even while taking notes. He addresses each of my… concerns individually and allows me to explain each of them in a timely fashion, without feeling rushed. In addition, when I ask questions, no matter how many, he takes the time to answer and explain them in a manner I totally understand. He is straightforward with his medical suspicions, but, orders specific tests to confirm or deny his diagnosis. When those tests results return, he explains them thoroughly and makes sure I comprehend everything they reveal; thanks to his extraordinary knowledge and excellent communication skills. Acknowledging that some of my illnesses are beyond his expertise, he readily refers me to a suitable physician who specializes in the field of my needs and corresponds with him or her accordingly. I visited Dr. Heffington several times when I was totally distressed because of excruciating pain that riddled my body. When that occurred, I respected the fact that he never dismissed my complaints nor my pain. On the contrary, he was extremely compassionate and understanding of my pains and sensitive to my medical needs. His caring bedside manners are as exceptional as his professionalism and respect that he extends to his patients. I thank God for Dr. Heffington, a phenomenal physician who uses his remarkable talent to treat, cure, and bless others.

This is my new primary doctor and he is absolutely fantastic He took over an hour with me to go over my complicated medical history . very knowledgeable physician I feel safe and secure under his care.
