Dr. Mark Charles Held, MD

I am a retired nurse of 30 year 10 of which were spent in the operating room as an assistant for a neurosurgeon. When I developed a sudden onset of severe pain in my arm resulting from a huge bulging disc at two levels in my neck in knew I had to have a surgeon. I was so blessed to have Dr. Held see me right away and within two weeks, all tests were completed and I had surgery which was a wonderful success! I awoke with no arm pain and that continued for 8 years until a once again the arm returned this time due to a problem at the level above the previous surgery. Again Dr. Held saw me right away and got me into to surgery. This surgery went even better than the first if that is possible. I am pain free and so appreciative to Dr. Held and staff for their care concern and compassion. The level of expertise, integrity and professionalism is five star. I highly recommend Dr. Held and hope you are blessed enough to have him as your neurosurgeon should you need one.

I cannot thank Drs. Held & Dalrymple enough. Their staff is the best. All of my questions were answered with patience and kindness. When I began my journey with them, I could barely walk. Believe it or not, I actually skipped down the hallway to their office for my last follow up. I am so blessed that I was referred to them. Their care coordinators are angels and were able to handle insurance and scheduling with ease. Even in the midst of a hurricane and approaching holiday season, everything fell right into place. A hundred stars and tons of gratitude to everyone that helped me through the most difficult year in my entire life. If you have been referred or need to be, rest assured that you will be in good hands and will receive the best of care.

Mark Held is one if the nicest people I have ever met!! He is very personable and a wonderful surgeon!! I was in a lot of pain and having trouble walking when I first saw him. He said nothing would help but surgery and he was right!!! My pain was gone within a week and I could not be more pleased!!! I have recommended him to several of my friends who are having similar problems and will always be grateful for his excellent care!!! Nancy Ward

Dr. Held has done a discectomy on me in 2001. Unfortunately I now need a fusion just above the initial area. I wouldn't trust anyone but Dr. Held to operate on my back. He is the best!

Unfriendly Staff. Waiting time extensive.

Superb physician. Did a laminectomy on me, I was out of the hospital same day and back to working 12 hour days in a week. Didn't take ANY pain medication post op.Highly recommend this guy

Very nice office, however staff was abrupt, the doctor himself was very direct. Did not make you feel very comfortable about what is about to happen to you. Did not explain what was going to happen to you, had me terrified during and prior to procedure.

He rebuilt most of my spine and did a fabulous job. I could not have had better care or a better outcome. was nearly crippled prior to surgery and now am totally recovered. one word of caution: if you are not ready to 'honor' your recovery, it won't matter how good your surgeon is. you MUST behave after spine surgery and take the full 18 months to recover but you WILL get your life back.
