Dr. Mark Jeffrey Klafter, DO

My neurological problem began in 1982 when a truck an a stop sign and crashed into my car, resulting in multiple injuries, and coma: Traumatic brain injury has changed my life forever. NEVER were my "laughing episodes" diagnosed before I found Dr. Klafer, who prescribed a NEW medication, which over time, has stopped these pseudobulbar affect (pba) episodes! I am forever grateful to Dr. Klafter and do not hesitate to recommend him.

A few days ago, I walked upstairs, went to the bathroom and bedroom, showered and got dressed. It took me over a year of progress to be able to do all of this on my own. In early 2018 I had severe pain, muscle symptoms and immobility. My PCP recommended a neurologist. Luckily Awilda at Dr. Klafter's office got me into testing the next day which led me to meet Dr. Klafter, be hospitalized and getting IGIV therapy. Dr. K was always enthusiastic and encouraging. He advised using the Styrofoam ice cups to distract from the hip and back pain. They WORK. I feel that he sees me as a real person and not just another case. My husband, Rick is also impressed. Thank you for your encouragement and kindness. Thank you, God, for all the pieces of the puzzle that have come together. Thank you that I am living today. I just tried to make a new patient appointment with Dr. Klafter. Was not able to do so before his office received my medical file from my primary care doc. I said I was in a lot of pain, have had a migraine for 3 days. Can i make an appointment now and have the files sent. NOPE... not the policy.

Dr. Klafter was able to diagnose my issue quickly and accurately. His exam was thorough and he took the time to listen carefully even though part of my issue was an inability to speak clearly. His diagnosis (before surgery for an unrelated issue) was instrumental in a positive outcome.

Waited over 2 hours to be seen. The office manager only came in to defend this waiting time.

My primary sent me for an evaluation on my hand numbness, and he did both an exam (after writing down information on my problem), and then did this nerve study. He explained that this helped him give me recommendations to take care of this. It was great to be able to get it done all in one visit. Not just feeling better, but also informed. It's great to see this unusual combination of efficiency, accuracy and caring. Thanks Dr. Klafter!

After taking care of a friend who really liked his "straightforward style balanced with just the right compassion," (her words) I decided to see him for my problem. So glad I did, as two years later (as of my last visit to his office this week) I would apply that phrase to my care. My only regret is that I waited so long to see him.

Dr. Klafter helped me with my primary Neuro problem but ALSO made use of his partners to treat a problem that did even realize was related to the original issue. I'm thankful that he thought to do that. Great staff too.

AND I NEVER MADE IT I THE DOOR! I was given a referral to see Dr. Klafter bc I have MG, MS, Neuropathy, DDD, ... I called. A receptionist called me back and said that he said he would not see me. Said there was nothing he or anyone in his office could/would do for me. They gave me NO REFERRALS FOR OTHER DOCTORS EITHER! UNBELIEVABLE!!! I'm a professional and I would never ever turn someone away that I had never even seen.

I like how Dr. Klafter is the type of physician who comes in prepared, listens, rolls up how sleeves and then becomes a problem solver. My family member's case was difficult, no doubt, and even though it is not considered "curable," he continues to provide solutions to individual aspects. Hard to find that these days
