Dr. Mark P. Lachiewicz

I know everyone has things that they value in a Dr. and that those things may not be as high a priority to other people; but I really like this Doc. My father and brother are MD's (although not OBGYNs) and I wanted a Dr. that made me feel like I was talking with my dad or my brother--someone who was authentic and that would make me feel like it wasn't a burden to be seen by him. I really wanted a Dr. that I felt comfortable with. I wanted a Dr. that would tell me that he didn't know the answers but would try to find out. I wanted a Dr. that felt like a partner and not like contractor. And I wanted a Dr. that wouldn't view me through the lens of his own personal value system and try to treat me accordingly. (I didn't want a Doc that thought I was crazy for not wanting a complete hysterectomy just because I'm 35 and have three kids or didn't want to take painkillers every day.) I feel very comfortable with Dr. Lachiewcz (even though I can hardly say his name correctly and still… can't spell it without help!) I feel like he has my best interest in mind, and that he supports the parameters I put on what treatment options are realistic for me. I trust him to be thorough and to be humble enough to know what he doesn't know but find out. And he feels friendly. I don't feel like I'm talking to a wall or that he talks above me. His office staff is always friendly and happy and genuine. The office itself is clean and as comforting as an OBGYN office can be. It feels professional and welcoming. I hardly ever wait more than 5 minutes after my apt time to be taken back to a room and rarely wait more than 10 to be seen by the doc. Thus far, I've been really pleased and would definitely recommend him and Emory's Women's center to people.
