Dr. Mark Allen Landrio, MD

I had a challenging experience with Neurologic Associates of Winchester and Dr. Mark Landrio. While my initial appointment went well, getting a follow-up was incredibly difficult. On several occasions, promised tests and medications were not followed through. It was frustrating trying to reach someone; calls went unanswered, and voicemails were ignored. Even after being hospitalized, it took weeks to finally secure an appointment, only to wait an hour past my scheduled time. When I expressed my concerns, I felt dismissed, especially when told my MS diagnosis didn't seem to impact scheduling priorities until I brought it up directly. Dr. Landrio expressed concern during the appointment and promised urgent testing for a potential blood clot. However, the follow-up process was again neglected, with the urgency of my situation not being adequately addressed. After multiple calls with no response and finally involving my insurance company, I did receive a call back promising resolution,… but surprisingly, I received a letter dropping me as a patient on the same day. The communication and follow-through from the practice were disappointing, and the way my concerns were handled left much to be desired. I hope they address these issues for the sake of future patients.

This was my first experience with a board-certified neurologist, and it left a permanent sour taste in my mouth. Dr. Landrio and his Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Melissa Ochoa, made what I, as a physician, like to refer to as a "knee-jerk" diagnosis, based on insufficient evidence. Without taking into account the very important history that I provided, Dr. Landrio decided that a single MRI study would be the definitive diagnostic modality, and he proceeded to inform me that I had, beyond a doubt, a terminal illness (Huntington's disease), despite a lack of familial genetics to back this up. He did order a genetic test, and the Laboratory returned results to his office within 6 days of test submission. Neither Dr. Landrio, nor his staff, bothered to inform me that I, in fact, did not have this terminal illness. Instead, 3 weeks later, I decided to call the laboratory directly, and they agreed, based on my credentials, to release the information to me directly. During that 3 week period I… developed suicidal thoughts and nearly followed through. I would not send a potato to be evaluated by this individual, much less a sentient life form.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS D'S OFFICE! Well never got to see the doctor because the office staff is completely incompetent. They know I have 2 health insurances and the secondary is out of network. The girl said she talked to the 2nd insurance company and they covered it, and she went ahead and made my appointment. I arrive at the appointment and give them paperwork, insurances cards and ID. They proceed to tell me that since my secondary insurance is out of network I would be responsible for the amount the primary does not pay. Not was I was told the other day by the person I had been working with, the one conveniently on vacation this week. They said she was the only one who handled this and I would have to wait until next week when she got back and they could not call her. So likely i'd be waiting weeks to have the test I need done. I have found another doctor and this office is a place I will never associate with since they cant get their stuff straight. Completely rude staff.

Called multiple times left messages and no one answered. I have medical issues that need more attention now I have to go to my primary doctor on Dec 30 to see if I could find another neurologist

Most professional physicians would never discuss politics nor subject any patients to wait an hour subjected to only Fox News. When I told him my co pay insurance rose over 100.00 he told me Trump would take care of that. I saw fireworks and never returned. He is arrogant and over treats. No more.

I first saw Dr. Landrio for muscle and nerve issues, I was additionally requested to have a sleep study. Dr. Landrio and his staff; even through the procedures may not have been fun or the most comfortable, he and his staff were very pleasant and nice to be around. Dr. Landrio's staff were even kind when I was in pain and not the most friendly and they showed passion and professionalism at every visit. I like the highly qualified and competent staff he has. They seem to know just how to calm me down and make me feel a little better. Dr. Landrio and his practitioners ruled out my scariest of fears of disease and have found several medical issues I have that were not as grave as I first thought (bad, but not as bad as I had worried about). Even though the sleep study is a pain and I really didn't think it was a big issue, the results showed me I was wrong and the staff quickly got me setup with an appointment to receive equipment to help. Dr. Landrio himself has been… kind, compassionate, and showed concern. He is also easy to talk to without the feeling of being judged. His demeanor is calm and collected and he provided answers to my questions; even when I didn't like the answer. The other issues still remain and he is working with me to make me more comfortable. I would highly recommend Dr. Landrio and his office for any of your concerns.

I have seen Dr. Landrio for many years. In the beginning he was a very good doctor who seemed to care about his patients. Over the years I have seen him become more worried about how many and how fast he could move patients and not really concerned about their welfare or care. I have seen what has happened to his staff which is a direct reflection on him weather it was his or theirs.

Highly recommend Dr. Landrio. At year-end I'd met my deductible & decided to schedule a sleep study prescribed long ago. I explained my situation, & the office staff made every effort to work me in before Dec 31st. I had the study and titration. Facility is clean, comfortable, like a nice hotel room. The sleep tech gave a step by step explanation. The Office Staff's extra effort resulted in my study being 100% covered by insurance! Best experience with Dr. And follow up care. THANK YOU!

The first couple of times I went to this office, I met with the PA, who was very good. Then it was decided I must see the "high and mighty" Dr. Landrio. I was told he only sees patients in the afternoons, which is not convenient for me, but I made an appointment anyway. When I finally arrived for the appointment that was scheduled about three months later, I waited and waited ... and waited. There is a sign in the lobby basically saying, "If you are 20 minutes late, you are in big trouble!" but the doctor can show up an hour and a half late with no warning and no apology, and I'm just supposed to shrug it off? No, thank you. Then I told him about a problem I was having with the CPAP and he didn't believe me. He is arrogant, rude, inconsiderate ... I have no idea why he even became a doctor because he obviously hates people. I will never go back. Just about any other neurologist has to be better than this guy.

You better not complain about his office having Fox News on the huge TV or doc wont like it. He made it very clear the loves trump and you better not feel differntly. My last visit ever to his office. I waited for one hour past my appointment time then was met with his arrogance.
