Dr. Mark Edward Maunder, MD

Dr. Mark Maunder is one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever been to. I am an older patient, and he is very gentle and caring with me. I have recommended him to my friends. I learned about him from my daughter and granddaughter who also go to this same medical clinic.

After going to many different GYNs in teh Austin area searching for the answer to unexplained pain and getting either the blow off or I don't know or a slew of the same tests over and over with no results I found Dr. Maunder. Although my condition is not dangerous or life threatening he treated me with concern and care and while it is not a common problem did additional research everytime I came for follow up with new ideas to try out. It made my pain situation manageable- he always remembered details and what had worked and hadn't and never made me feel silly ( which others did at time, along with insinuating it was in my head). Unfortunately I had to move out of the area for a few years, where I had my first child. All I can say is I would have much preferred having Dr. Maunder as my OB GYN during that time. I am now back and town and on this site looking for his clinic's number so I can start going back. Wish all OB GYNs were truly this compassionate. BTW his nurse ( she was there… 2006-2009, my last appt there) was always AWESOME! She did great call backs if I had any questions about a new treatment. First class.

I chose Dr. Maunder to care for me during my 6th pregnancy. I have 1 daughter and 4 horrible miscarriages. His nurse Zana was very rude from the beginning but I decided to overlook it since Dr. Maunder seemed to be very nice and compassionate. As I began to get further along my pregnancy, I began having lots of different complications. I would call the Dr. and yeah they are very good at getting back to you right away and getting you into the office immediately, but the Dr. kept telling me I had nothing and that everything was fine. One night I began having lots of excruciating abdominal pain and spotting and called the Dr. and let him know I had done everything he recommended I do and all he said was, "there is nothing I can do." Shortly after I hung up with him I began bleeding more, so I went to Seton ER and there they said I had Placenta Previa. The next day I went to see Dr. Maunder and his reply was that the ER tends to over exaggerate and basically are idiots, and simply told me… to go back to see him next week.
