If you don’t want to die then I suggest you go somewhere else. My father almost died because of him. Over a gallbladder surgery. He put clamps in my father that was suppose be taken out within a month. He didn’t contact my mother back to remove them. My father suffered 7 months with those clamps inside him. We haven’t heard anything from this clown. His day is coming…………??

No stars horrible, he was a covering physician for my Dr. Harris during Thanksgiving week I literally had surgery 4 days ago and I called yesterday for issues with Bariatric surgery ( constipation) and today I started having cramps in my right leg. Dr. medley stated “ you have to many problems you just need to go to the ER” instead of being compassionate and probing more questions I get an unprofessional attitude. And then says oh your leg is swollen oh it could be a DVT, I’m like wow you are the covering doctor and I never said anything about my leg being swollen! I’m thinking a little dehydrated or something and I get attitude. Not a good!!! I think your in the wrong line of work!

Dr Medley did a great job on my surgery! Tiny, unnoticeable scar where the incision was made. But just as important, he was kind, caring, and professional. The staff in the office we’re all friendly. I would highly recommend Dr Medley and Wilmington Surgical.

Dr. Medley may be a great general surgeon, but his bedside manner and sense of advocating for his patients is extremely lacking. As a patient of his, I feel as if he is just trying to temporarily treat my issues rather than fight for really helping me in the long haul. I don't doubt his skills at all, but it is hard to trust him as a doctor. His staff (PA and nurse) are exceptional.

I'm very pleased with the outcome of my surgery with Dr. Medley. He's very professional and a well regarded surgeon among his staff. I would go to him again in the future if needed without any hesitation.

I would never recommend this surgeon to anyone & will suggest my family medicine doctor delete from her list. The consultation I had prior left me feeling a bit uncomfortable and I wasn't sure why. I had been having abdominal issues for several months & wanted to find out once & for all what the problem was. I went in with an open mind thinking all will be fine as it has been with other surgeons. I never spoke with Dr. Medley after the surgery, he was gone before it was time for me to leave the hospital. I was in a lot of pain & the nurse gave me a pain pill, never checking the bandage or the incision. I did not receive a call from anyone to see how I was doing. I had left a message for Dr. Medley to call me that afternoon as I was wondering what he found. Thank goodness for the ER doctor who removed the staples & stitched up the incision that was dripping blood from the bandage & down my leg. The ER doctor said there was no way the doctor had closed the incision, it… had to be someone else assisting. I asked both his office staff & him who had closed & did not get a straight answer. Still no call to see how I was doing until two days later. The follow-up appointment was even worse. The PA came in & I asked to see the doctor, after I & had been waiting 1&1/2 hours. Dr Medley was rude and seemed to have no interest in being there. Even suggested that the staff at the hospital might have just had a bad day. Not acceptable...

This review is primarily based on the results I received from gallbladder surgery by Dr. Medley. My gallbladder was removed one week after going to the ER by Dr. Medley. He performed the procedure with one small incision under my belly button as opposed to the hospital doctor who was going to make 4 incisions. I'm not sure if the one incision procedure is appropriate for every patient (I am in my mid-20's and in good health otherwise), but it is 2 years later and my scar is BARELY noticeable. I feel so grateful that at my age, I don't have more scarring. I can't comment too much on Dr. Medley's interpersonal skills as I was pretty out of it during the time and it's been a while. But the results of my gallbladder surgery are fantastic, and I have had no problems since. Definitely recommend him for this procedure.

Rude,no patience, didnt seem to care.I just didnt care for his attitude. Even the person I was with wanted to say something to him because he was being so rude. For a patient like me that hates going to Drs because I get crazy nerves. He is a prime reason I hate going.

Why did this guy become a doctor? Almost died because he could not be found for call for surgery. Then he missed a mass in the X-ray so ended up had to go to another surgeon to get a diagnosis. Turned out OK-but not because of Medley.He has good surgical skill-wasted on a uncaring guy.

Dr. Medley and his staff are amazing. I have only been in Wilmington for 6 years and when I needed to have surgery he came highly recommended by my gastro dr. He is very knowledgable, caring and an incredible surgeon. I would recommend this dr or group to do any surgery. I will never use anyone else but them in the future!
