Had a IME with dr moody now I can’t even get a copy of it and he want answer or return my calls

Dr. Moody, before and after surgery, was amazing! He provided fantastic bed side manner and follow up. My body is so much better, thanks to him!

I must preface this review by giving the reader my perspective. I come from a family of doctors and medical practitioners. I have worked in a major teaching hospital and managed doctors' offices. I care very much for doctors and their associates and understand the challenges and stress they face daily. Most are caring, compassionate, and giving people who truly want the best for their patients. This is why I am saddened to have to leave a bad review on Dr. Moody. If you don't care to read the details of my experience then please consider what I am summing up here: Anyone considering surgery with Dr. Moody, please do your homework. Get second, third or even fourth opinions. Talk to as many people as possible that have had experience with this doctor. Hopefully you’ll get the kind of information you need to make the best decision for your situation. On the day of my initial appointment with Dr. Moody, I waited over an hour in the hot, stuffy and crowded waiting area before I was… finally taken back for a series of x-rays. The x-ray tech was the nicest and most helpful of anyone I saw that afternoon. After completing the x-rays, I was sent to a narrow hallway to continue to wait. It was over another hour before I was finally called back to an exam room. A little over a month earlier I'd had an MRI of the cervical spine taken at the request of this clinic; their requirement for it to be done before I would be seen by them. I had also worked to arrange to have my prior medical surgical records sent to this doctor, as I was told they were also required before I could be seen. After waiting another 30 minutes in the small and stuffy exam room, Dr. Moody breezed in and started talking. He showed me the x-rays and pointed out what was wrong. He really didn't give much of an explanation of what he would do and then rushed on to say he would do the surgery. I asked if he'd looked at the MRI I brought in that had been required. He said he "didn't need to see it". As he was leaving he said that I'd need a CT scan and then they would set the surgery up. He didn't discuss the procedure, the risks, how long the healing would take, percentage of success he'd had in similar surguries, etc. He was flying out the door before I could even get a question out. It took all of five minutes to see him before he rushed out the door. After another thirty minutes or so, I was led to his secretary's desk who proceeded to ask the usual questions to get things set up in her computer. Then she asked when would l like to have the MRI. Stunned, I told her I'd already had it done and had given the disc to one of her associates who had presumably copied it to their system. The secretary shrugged and said, okay, we'll get the CT scan scheduled and someone would call me. Two days later I had a call from Dr. Moody's office to schedule the CT scan. They also wanted to schedule the MRI. I explained, as I had earlier to his secretary, that I didn't need a new MRI as I'd just had one done. I was told they would check into it and meanwhile we proceeded to get the CT Scan scheduled and a few days later I got the scan. A week later I got another call from Dr. Moody's office saying they had the CT scan results but were waiting on the MRI. “Would I like to schedule it now?” Again I explained that they had the disk of the MRI I'd had done per their requirement that it be done before I could be seen. Again, they said they would check on that and get back to me. About a week after getting the CT scan I got another call from someone in Dr. Moody's office saying they had the results from the CT scan but were still waiting on me to get the MRI scan. I tried to be nice in my response but I know my anger showed as I explained once again that they had the MRI in their system and I didn't need another. She said she would look into it. A couple days later someone else called to say they'd found the MRI in their system and that I didn't need another. I was told Dr. Moody had ordered it by mistake! They wanted to know if I'd gotten the results from the CT Scan. I said no, I hadn't heard anything back from it. This person seemed surprised and said she would have someone call me about the results in a day or two. I said okay and thanked her. That was the last time I heard anything from Dr. Moody's office. No one ever called with the results of the CT Scan, nor about scheduling the surgery. By that time I knew I would never let Dr. Moody do my surgery. So, in the end it didn’t matter that they continued their negligence by never calling as promised and never giving me the results of the CT scan. To say the least, Dr. Moody was negligent, careless and incompetent in my care. How many other patients have been treated this way? How many have been harmed by his scattered attention to his patients and their needs? If he cares so little about the patient before surgery, how can I trust him to care about me during the surgery where he would be working around the spinal cord? With one little slip of the scalpel and I could become a quadriplegic. I'd rather live with limited motion and pain than to take a chance with this doctor operating on me. Patients, whatever test you are required to get, always ask for a copy of the report, even better get a copy/disk of the imaging. This has saved me much time in getting required information to the doctor. I have also been able to use these items to get second opinions from other doctors without all the hassle of going to the imaging or hospital office to pick them up.
