Dr. Mark Steven Puscas, MD

When my daughter started to have a fever after showing rapid onset of other symptoms we took her to Salem Clinics south Salem urgent care where she was seen at the drive up by Dr. Puscas at about 6:15 in the evening. He was very concerned about her condition and was very thorough in his exam. When we got home we received a call from Dr. Puscas to tell us she showed signs of a UTI and that he prescribed antibiotics. He asked us to keep an eye on her vitals and if they didn’t improve to take her to the ER. At about 10pm that night when we were trying to decide what to do the phone rang, it was Dr. Puscas checking in. We gave him an update to which he said to take her to the ER immediately. The ER that was closest to us was very unremarkable, they did a blood test and sent us home. The next morning her symptoms had not improved and while we were trying to get her PCP to call us back my phone rang and once again it was Dr. Puscas on the line like a guardian angel calling to see how she was… doing and how the ER visit went. He was not happy with the care she had received and advised that we take her to a different ER and outlined what she would need. At the close of our conversation he shared with me that it was his day off but if we needed him to call him on his personal number which he gave me. We took her to Legacy Silverton hospital where they have been taking very good care of her and have admitted her too see this through. As Dr. Puscas requested I called him back with an update, he was happy I called and thanked me for the update. I plan on seeing if he is taking patients as this is what a doctor should be. His concern for my daughter was unlike anything I have experienced, he reminded me of our family physician when I was a kid.
