Dr. Mark V. Sherrid, MD

I've been a patient of Dr. Sherrid since my HCM diagnosis in 2010. I have accepted his "quirky & gruff" demeanor in the past, and our visits have been routine and generally pleasant. However, my recent appointment diverged significantly from this pattern and necessitates sharing my concerns. During my appointment to review recent test results, I encountered unexpected hostility when seeking clarification on changes in my care, medications, and testing. Dr. Sherrid's combative and abrasive demeanor, coupled with accusations of "interrogation" and "over-reacting," left me emotionally upset and shaken. The encounter felt reminiscent of outdated doctor stereotypes, where authoritative figures are intolerant of patient questions. While Dr. Sherrid is undoubtedly a respected HCM scientist, my recent experience suggests an unacceptable deterioration in his patient conduct. Given this, I would caution newly diagnosed HCM patients to explore other specialists in the field.

Waited 3 months for an appointment I had a death in the family the night before so the morning of we were running late also do to inclement weather I called the office they told me I had to reschedule a month later because of is "15" min policy so I guess their is absolutely no compassionate or understanding at this office I guess if I do die from my heart condition is was because I was more then 15 min late thanks Dr. Sherrid......

Focused on my weight even though the meds I am taking for my heart cause weight gain. Advice, when I checked with other specialists, was not correct. He has a distant, not so nice demeanor.

Dr Sherrid has taken care of me for more than 15 years. I have HCM. He cares for me as if I was his father. I have great confidence in him and his nurse practitioner Mila Azerbadjian.

Dr Sherrid routinely saves lives. I can't recommend him enough.

I have been going to Dr. Sherrid for about 13 years. He is devoted to his practice. I feel like I am in God's hands with his care. His assistant RN Mila Arabajian is also terrific.

He changed my life--diagnosed my HCM with care and concern. Spends as much time with you as you need and extremely thorough and careful in his examination and diagnosis.
