Dr. Mark Joseph Spangehl

Dr. Mark Spangehl is an excellent surgeon and Nick Probst is exceptional for pre-op and follow-up care. Entire procedure was flawless, all my questions were answered, and Mayo clinic in Phoenix is world class. After a week, my hip replacement is healing, never needed narcotics, and only taking an Aleve twice a day. I have zero hip pain, walking with cane just in case but have complete mobility. Dr. Spangehl provides personal care and expert hip replacement with little pain and minimal recovery time.

My heart and sincere thanks go out to Dr. Mark Spangehl. He is truly a world class surgeon that we are lucky to have in Phoenix. After three years of a miserable and extremely wrong and painful surgery by another this miracle man was able to redue, repair and replace a complete and complicated hip to zero pain and 100 percent mobility. On top of his kindness and caring personality I will always be grateful for everything he has done to make my life good again.

Dr Spangehl and his PA Nick are the best team to have on your side. Not only is Dr. Spangehl a skilled surgeon but one of the nicest people you will meet. I had two hip surgeries with him and did very well with recovery. He is always responsive to my concerns and questions. I would not go to anyone else even if I had to wait a year to get his services.

Dr. Spangehl is a class act. He gave me a new knee a week ago. He performed the surgery smoothly & effortlessly. Lucky to have been referred to him by my Family physician at Mayo.

Dr. Spangehl and staff are absolutely great. After 10 years of continuing arthritic errosion, Mark replace my knee this year. The whole Mayo adventure was flawless, including post surgery PT. Highly recommended.

After 5 surgeries by another Orthopedist who never got it right, I found Dr. Spangehl at Mayo Clinic, Phoenix. He was described to me when I was going pre-op preparation as the "clean-up" doctor. I found him to be just that. He replaced my hip so that it finally stayed in place and not dislocate so easily (4 times prior). He is wonderful and very skilled in his work. I would go back any time or recommend him in a nanosecond.

I am a 69 year old woman with arthritis. I knew I would eventually need hip and knee replacement. Over the years I consulted with orthopedic surgeons and, each time, I was told l should put off surgery until I could not stand the pain any longer. Because I work full-time at a job I love (flight attendant for a major airline), I continued to work. By the time I walked into Dr. Spangehl's office for the first time, I was using a walker and I was ready for a total hip replacement. It has been eight weeks since surgery and I could not be happier. I was out of bed and walking with a walker within the first 12 hours of surgery. I was discharged from the hospital within 48 hours. I was walking without the aid of a walker within one week. I plan to return to work three months post-op. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Spangehl. His knowledge, his skill, his bedside manner is exceptional. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with him or Mayo Clinic. I will… eventually have my knee replaced. With total confidence I will to return to Dr. Spangehl and Mayo Clinic.

I found Dr. Spangehl very caring, a good listener and spent much time with me reviewing surgical and nonsurgical options.

Dr. Spangehl is the most arrogant, rude, insensitive, and uncaring doctor I have ever met with. He doesn't listen to half of what you say and doesn't really care what you have to say.
