Dr. Mark Conrad Spitz, MD

Dr. Spitz literally changed our lives. We struggled for years with misdiagnoses, medication that didn't work, and behaviors caused by an illness we didn't understand. Within 10 minutes of our first visit he told us what he thought it was, he put my girl in the hospital to test and confirm it (he was right), and he told us everything would be okay! Over the years he has been a miracle worker for us. I am not overstating this. My girl is developmentally disabled and presents so many challenges. Dr. Spitz takes extra time with her. He speaks to her directly (something a lot of doctors don't do). And he LISTENS to her. We now know exactly what her illness is and he has treated it aggressively (again, something a lot of doctors don't do because of her intellectual challenges). We are so grateful for him and the care he provides.

He might be a good neurologist but his bedside manner was awful. I asked him a question about my daughter's health and he looked past me to my daughter and said "Lets face it, you are my bread and butter." It was the last time we saw him. I do not recommend this arrogant doctor.

Dr. Spitz was very thorough, caring, and attentive. I felt that he understood what was going on with my health- and I’d recommend him to anyone I know. The problem is his staff. His MAs and nurses have repeatedly called in the incorrect dosage of medicines I need to combat nocturnal seizures. They’ve been rude, dismissive, and lazy. I won’t be going back.

Expert diagnosis and treatment with bedside manner.

I think Dr. Spitz saved my life. The biggest problem with seeing him is that it is very hard to get in for an appointment and the wait is long once you get there.

Dr, Spitz is an expert in his field, highly intelligent, able to ask the right questions, interpret what his patients are saying, diagnose their medical condition properly and speak in terms that are easy to understand. While some Doctors just go to work, Dr. Spitz realizes he is working with people treating his patients great and showing he truly does care.

Dr. Spitz is the best epilepsy specialist. He explains, listens, and cares about all of his patients. He is a special physician and is an inspiration to all of us with epilepsy.

I am not an easy egg to crack and neither is my son. Dr. Spitz and his team took me (our case) and our family on without any problems (iopen arms). I think sometimes he has some regrets, as expected. LOL. But as he states, " You will be smarter then they are about your condition. " and to my surprise, need I say more. It is going on almost 20 years and watching the public still under educated about different seizurers amaze me. Dr. Spitz we need more amazing efficent, dedicated people like yourself who take the time to get to know the people as a whole, not just a client. I know we are speical, but please the more you collect the more you can write and learn. So please together someday there will be a cure and for people like us, where we dont have the oppurity for surgery someday we will. I thank you and you staff.

Our son is a post TBI patient who was experiencing a real set-back for nearly a year with no answers provided by his Neuro at the time. After a referral to Dr. Spitz and his immediate willingness to investigate and treat - David has been healthier and happier than he has been in a few years. Dr. Spitz's bedside manner is awesome and inspiring. The office staff is incredible and caring.I've worked in healthcare for the past 30 years and have NEVER encountered a group of professionals so completely awesome.
