Best Dr ever. He is educated in all fields and made me feel so comfortable. Wonderful staff and best experience I have had.

The Doctor is very knowledgeable and he cares for his patients. Office staff helpful and courteous.

I have gone to Dr. Mark Tamarin for 20 years. The first 15 years he was a talented and caring doctor. He has many medical skills and we a great doctor. The front desk when it hit its high, was poor. Over the last five years, Dr. Tamarin has lost his focus and interest in patients. His work has suffered which combined with a really horrible front desk is a tough combination. With so much history and his knowledge of me, I am still going to find a new physician.

The doctor and his staff were excellent. Everything was explained clearly and my own apprehensions were addressed. The surgery center where the procedure took place was very professional, friendly and caring. I had had the procedure on the opposite side 12 years before and had horrible pain for over 2 weeks. This time only a relatively small amount of discomfort.

Good News - I was able to get an appt the next day!Bad News - Now I understand why! This place is horrible. The office staff was awful, rude, and inconsiderate. Office was unclean with outdated futniture, and clutter all over the clinic. Medical equipment was also dated and unkept in the patient room. Bathroom was nasty. Dr Tamarins office was cluttered, especially his desk, and he took a personal phone call in the middle of our visit that easily lasted 4-5min. Then decided to check email during my consult. He seemed knowledgeable of my condition, but said it was no emergency although he recomended surgery. It was obvious I was just another patient to him, that he could care less about. If you are in the Southbay area and needing a urologist LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!

This man has no regard for the truth and will lie to you regarding his level of education and skill. Has been in front of the board for his improprieties. Don't go near this man

Excellent doctor & very professional, & with a smile. Very caring, cooperative, polite & extremely courteous & this includes his staff as well. They all deserve a big hug & big thank you for all their help, & a raise as well.

I visited Dr. Tamarin after experiencing some symptoms of a UTI. I had no problem getting in right away to see him which made my experience begin pleasantly. During my first visit we did the standard testing when experiencing conditions which I had and I was pleased with Dr. Tamarin and his office. During my second visit, which was to diagnose my test results, Dr. Tamarin informed me of the negative UTI test and the fact that he was pretty uncertain what was actually causing my problems. Considering this is my health and I was expecting to hear positive things, I was a little taken back at the results and quite nervous that as a professional, he was not sure what was wrong. So we discussed more testing, which was quite invassive and intimidating to myself. I expressed my financial concern with all of the testing he said I would need as I am an uninsured patient and this would be coming out of my pocket. Dr. Tamarin was very kind in discounting my rates to the out of pocket expenses a… patient with Medicare would receive. I felt like this showed how compassionate and concerned this doctor was and it raised my opinion of him and made me much more comfortable with all of the testing he wanted to do. The day of the testing came and I was quite nervous so I was given prescription pills to ease my pain and worry. I was quite out of it with this medication and the procedure, in my opinion, was painless and went well. The Dr. said my tests were pretty normal and the symptoms were still a mystery. He recommended I finish the 10 day antibiotic rx I was on for an entirely different problem and after I finish start Bactrim (which is a strong antibiotic and also the rx he had put me on for the 14 days prior to my starting Keflex). I expressed how concerned I was with being on 2 different antibiotics for 24 days straight and then starting his recommended 7 day Bactrim Rx. He expressed belief in my worries and told me to talk to him when that Rx ran out. I called his office on the last day of that Rx and left a message for him because he was unavailable to take my call. After not hearing back from him, I called a few more times each time leaving ANOTHER message for him and expressing how important these messages were that I was leaving for him. The final time I tried reaching him (3 days into calling and leaving these messages) his staff told me that he wouldn't be in the office that day and he wouldn't get the message until the following day, which would put me at finalizing my Keflex 4 days prior. At this point I gave up with my attempts at talking to Dr. Tamarin and never got on more antibiotics or EVER heard back from him or his office. My follow up appointment from my testing ( cystocopy) was about a week and a half later. I came for my appointment and let Dr. Tamarin know I never experienced infection or anything that concerned myself and also that I had never gotten on the recommended Rx because I called and left many messages for him and never heard back. The Dr. either never actually received these messages, which is alarming since I left so many, or he was embarrassed to have been so lazy at his job that he just lied to my face about receiving them. Whatever the case, I was extremely disappointed that on top of my health concerns, which were still unclear, I was now dealing with a Dr and office staff that were not in sync. After talking with other professionals about my problem and still having many unanswered questions and concerns, I opted to see another Dr and have a second opinion. After finding someone, I scheduled an appt with this new office and was informed I should bring my records from Dr. Tamarins office. I called over, Tuesday morning to ask how to pick these up. The woman answering the phone pleasantly told me she would have my release form ready for me to sign when I got there (in an estimated hours time). She also informed me there was a fee to pick up my file which was fine with me. I showed up about an hour later to sign the release and the front staff was confused about me being there and did not have the release ready for me. I was the only person in the office so it shouldn't have taken that long to get this ready so I waited. Then when she came back with the form, the price had doubled from which I was told on the phone. This fee was not concerning financially, however I felt like I was being taken advantage of and it jogged my memory of how everytime I come to their office the fee seems to change and rollercoaster up and down unexplained although the visits seem to remain the same. I came back Friday morning to pick up my file and was quite shocked when I opened and read what was inside. The report was half professional and medical related, and half extremely inappropriate, unprofessional and seemed to be personal. There was more written about my messages left and how professionally he believed them to be imaginary and less about the medical aspect of a medical report. There was also talk about my financial concerns which clearly has nothing to do with my bladder. I was appauled to first hand experience such an insulting and unprofessional medical report and now have to deal with the embarrassment of giving this report to another medical professional. Whether Dr. Tamarin wrote this report himself, which seems unlikely, or not, this is a representation of his office and a representation of him and he should be embarrassed that he now has this image. I would tell anybody looking for a Urologist to steer clear of this office and ask for another recommendation. To treat a patient as poorly as I believe to have been treated is an outrage and with as many options as there are in Los Angeles, this is a pathetic example of patient care and a clear sign that I was correct in looking for another professional. I rate this office 0 stars.
