I went in for a routine gallbladder removal and he discovered an unidentified mass. He closed me up, ordered a CT scan and deferred me to a colleague of his who specializes in liver. The second doctor told me if he had poked/biopsied it, it could have spread and he did the right thing. He has an excellent bedside manner, takes all the time you need, and returns calls personally asap. I highly recommend him. I love this doc!!!

He removed my gallbladder which was successful and upon being diagnosed during a MRI at Northside Hospital Atlanta campus he located a mass on my adrenal gland. Well guess what, I had a very rare tumor called pheochromocytoma in which 2 out of every million are diagnosed with this horrific tumor. I had the worse hypertension symptoms and thought I was going to die but he saved my life by removing both the tumor and my left adrenal gland. Trust me you will not be disappointed he has the best bedside manner and truly cares about his patients.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Wilkiemeyer. Outstanding in every way, especially bedside manner. He patiently answered all my questions very thoroughly for my laparoscopic hernia repair. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Wilkiemeyer performed surgery on my 95-year-old father for an intestinal blockage. He was willing and able to answer many questions. His approach to my father's case was deliberate and thoughtful. Thank you Dr. Wilkiemeyer!

I went to the ER very sick. After test, scans & ex-rays the ER doctor determined that they needed to call the surgical team and turn me over to them. Shortly thereafter Dr. Wilkemeyer walked in the room and advised me that he'd reviewed my scans, etc and after reviewing, he felt it was necessary to take me in to surgery that same night. He was very nice, extremely gracious, and showed much empathy for the pain I was in. After a 6 day hospitalization I followed up with him in his office. He was very timely, not overbooked (which resulted in me getting in and out) He is very detailed and explained everything in a way that I could understand it. I would highly recommend him as he is great at what he does.

I needed a hernia repaired and Dr. Wilkiemeyer did a great job of explaining the hernia itself, the repair and the recovery. It took about 1.5 weeks from my initial visit to schedule the surgery and we were at the surgery center for about 4 hours total. The recovery was much easier than expected and I was back to work after a couple days. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Wilkiemeyer or return to his practice.

Dr. Wilkiemeyer is a great doctor, before my surgery he contacted me personally to find out how I was and to give me some instructions before my surgery. That was unusual generally you talk to a staff member. He is a great person and took care of me during my illness
