Summary
I am a board-certified medical oncologist with more than 20 years of experience, much of it helping patients from Rowan County and neighboring areas. \n During my career, I've helped my patients using bone marrow biopsies and chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted treatments to identify and fight more than a dozen types of cancer. The list includes cancers of the lung, blood, skin, colon, liver, cervix, kidney, bladder and pancreas, as well as Hodgkin's lymphoma and multiple myeloma. I've treated men with testicular and prostate cancer and women with breast cancer. \n I selected oncology as a medical specialty because it allows me to help those in great need of physical and emotional care. I also believe oncology is the branch of medicine that is most challenging and subject to rapid change and innovation. \n I take time to listen to my patients and to connect with them emotionally. \n Before joining Novant Health and relocating to the Novant Health Cancer Institute - Rowan in 2020, …I helped to establish Carolina Oncology Associates in Rowan County. I have served on the board of a local hospice organization and served as vice president and president of internal medicine at Rowan Regional Medical Center before it was acquired by Novant Health in 2008. \n In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and traveling with my family and reading.
