Dr. Marla A Mendelson, MD

Hello, I am a patient of Dr. Mendelson. I've been with this doctor for several years now and at first, I was great with her, but I do have concerns on how my appointments and test results are so far apart a lot of times when it should not be for a patient with HEART DISESE like myself. I have been wondering and thinking about health and how far will this take me. Having a heart problem is not something any doctor should take lightly. I am in and out the ER more than I can count and both hands. I'm wondering if I need a second option because this scary and I'm getting older. I was born with TOF and have had a few repairs in my lifetime. I am now 43 and I thank God and my family and most import My son who makes me strong every day. I'm asking to please do a bit better with my condition. We understand you are a very bust Dr. but if a patient is like 5 mins late you are now leaving the building not giving your patients a chance to see you knowing you are always booked so far out. You tend… to rush patient's appointments

I had been a patient of Dr. Marla Mendelson since 2013 when I had valve replacement surgery. She is intelligent and cares about her patients. I always felt like I was in very good hands and that she truly cared about my heart health. She was also very friendly and professional, and we talked about horses. I had heart surgery at age 3 at Michael Reese many years ago. So, I have worked with many cardiologists over my lifetime and Dr. Mendelson, along with Dr. Pipit are my absolute favorites.

Her insouciant behavior is quite disturbing to say the least. She should exit medicine. As a busy finance professional in his 40's with an irregular EKG, I have reason to be concerned about my heart health and would like a physician who is engaged. She is not engaged. She likes to hand patients of to her nurse who provides insufficient detail on treatment plans.

She’s simply the best. Incredibly intelligent, thorough, and responsive. She’s warm and caring to boot. Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a cardiologist.

Rudest doctor I ever met

Dr. Mendelson is an incredibly smart person. She has great knowledge with CDH patients, especially during pregnancy. That said, she is a TERRIBLE dr if you are looking for someone who actually cares about patients. She is rude, rolls her eyes, cuts you off while you are answering her questions, and outwardly judges your lifestyle choices. She treated me like I was an ingornat fool until she found out what I did for a living. Now she just treats me like a fool. I highly reccommend sensitivity training for this doctor. She may have medical knowledge, but completely lacks people skills and personality.

Dr. Mendelson was the most uncaring, unsympathetic, rude and unprofessional doctor I've ever been to. I went in for a possible heart problem. She didn't take my medical history and talked over me and rolled her eyes every time I tried to tell her something. She left the room and ordered a bunch of tests for me without telling me why. After she left the room she never came back. After getting the tests she refused to go over my results with me and the nurse would not let me speak with her unless I made a follow up appt. and spent another $500 for her to roll her eyes and ignore me. BTW I called NWH to get the price on a test which they quoted at $300. It ended up being $3500. Avoid this doctor and the hospital, both are overpriced and rude.
