Dr. Marlowe David Ross, MD

I’ve had an asthma related cough for over twenty years. It got to the point I was having coughing bouts every hour. Dr Ross was very thorough in his assessment and the treatment/ medication he prescribed has eliminated the cough. Thank God. I like Dr Ross’s attention to detail and professionalism which has finally relieved me of my coughing problem.

Do yourself a favor and go to an office that wants to provide the best care possible. This is not what I experienced here.

He told me he never makes a mistake. I’m very put off by any dr who tells you to not speak while they type their notes into their laptops arrogant but I never saw him walk on water.

Anyone who would give less than 5 stars for Dr. Riss has the wrong doctor in the wrong state!! Dr. Marlowe Ross is 'right on' in his diagnosis and treatment. His empathy is obvious in his care and follow up. A bit of a wait sometimes but that's because he's giving a patient the time he feels is necessary. He's very thorough. He doesn't just see patients, he treats them!! Excellent doctor!!

Terrible bedside manors. I got a wrong diagnosis and he suggested surgery that I didn't need. Beware!!!

It has been a long struggle these 5 years after losing my wife. Dr. Ross was her doctor and the one she loved and respected. She suffered greatly with Asthma for years but I always knew she was getting the best health care possible with Dr. Ross. When going to the hospital, I felt so relieved when i saw him and knew she would be alright. It was not Asthma that took her but something else. Thanks you Susie and Dr. Ross for the many, many straight talks and good care you gave my beloved Wife

Dr. Ross has been my primary doctor for over a decade. I've appreciated his openness and knowledge of medicine. I happen to enjoy his temperament of gruffness - tempered with humor. He spends the time to make sure I understand why he prescribes procedures, tests, and medicines. He also listens to my concerns about costs and side effects. He does give leeway if sufficient rationale is presented.Office management is very efficient - and Susie can be a lot of fun. Waiting times can be very annoying, but a call to Susie (she encourages it) will result in an instant recommendation of when to show up - and that can save a lot of time. I rarely wait more than five minutes as a result of this great feature.Dr. Ross commands a lot of respect from his colleagues (usually Hoag Hospital family), and that results in better attention from them when he recommends you to them. That is really cool.

Dr. Ross spends a great deal of time with his patients because he cares about each one of them. If there is a day full of critically ill patients then appointments run behind. However, when you are severely ill this additional time is greatly appreciated. Dr. Ross is a rarity in terms of his expertise and dedication. to his patients. A medical student who tries to direct his mothers treatment writes a review more about himself than his grandmother, another review is happy with the large allotment of time spent on her yet complains she had to wait. Dr. Ross's office manager is the best I have ever encountered. Another critique: It is obvious this person cannot get to the point on the phone while two doctors, the hospital, and three other COPD patients are on hold. To that person, I understand it is California, but get over yourself. Like the first critique: If you are looking for the best: it is well worth the wait. Dr. Ross thinks fast, takes action fast, and if you have trouble… breathing Dr. Ross is the quarterback you need for your care. Dr. Ross's office manager is dedicated, knowledgeable, and if you are a current patient with a problem you will receive a call from Dr. Ross by 9 P.M. that evening. Have that 24 hour pharmacy number in hand because Dr. Ross is diagnosing your needs as you are talking and once that 24 hour pharmacy number is given, Dr. Ross hits send and your medication order is at the pharmacy.If all of Dr. Ross's patients knew the pure crap that ends up being posted then the comments that mirror mine would be 992 four star and 8 that make a hobby out of complaining.

Dr. Ross is an outstanding doctor. He is currently treating my Mom and my husband. He is very through and has no problem calling another one of your doctors if he feels that something needs to be addressed immediately. I wish he could be their primary doctor, but we have the Anthem HMO Plan. If you have a PPO Plan he can be your primary doctor. His appointments get backed up because he takes the time with each patient. He is worth the wait!

I tried to book with the doc because he was recommended. I spoke with a very rude office manager who told me I had to have insurance and a referral to make an appointment. I told her I have insurance, but would like to pay cash. She said they won't see me if I pay cash or use a credit card to pay cash. She said they only take people with insurance and referrals and hung up. It seems I cannot pay to get healthy. However, from the reviews on this site, perhaps I should look elsewhere for help. Maybe I should run an add on Craig's list. "looking for good asthma specialist". " Will pay large sums of cash".
