Dr. Marston Shaun Holt, MD

Over a year ago I had a routine rotater cuff surgery to treat intermittent pain in the shoulder mainly after heavy lifting. Since the surgery the shoulder has become much worse and I am in constant disabling pain rendering my right arm useless and don't know what to do.

This my second surgery with Dr. Holt. He operated on my right shoulder years ago. He came recommended by professionals in his field. Now it was time for the left side. Both times he took the time to explain what was going on with my shoulder. Professional and to the point. Seems to be genuinely concerned about getting my shoulder in better shape. I would recommend him to all of my friends that are breaking down with age.

Dr Holt was highly recommended to me. We made the appt. Waited 2 hours after appt time. I know, it happens. We were told by his PA I needed to have a shoulder replaced. !0 minutes later - Dr walks in. He doesn't introduce himself. He doesn't ask any questions about my condition ( I am in a wheelchair). He picks up a shot and begins to give the shot in my shoulder. He tells me this will help until we can do the operation in about 6 weeks. I mentioned my concern about rehab for this surgery taking into account I can't walk. He laughed - and said "Yeah, its gonna be pretty bad", and walked out. We sat there for a while stunned. I do not normally write bad reviews - but this was ridiculous.

I was referred to the doctor by my primary care physician. The referral was approved by my insurance. Scheduling refused to schedule because I was in a car accident. I had to pay out of pocket. Not he doctor's fault, but it is his practice.

Dr. Holt came highly recommended and I should have known when I called for my first appointment that I would not be happy because it took over 24 hours for the scheduler to return my call. Since then I have had to leave several messages for the scheduler and MA before they contacted me back. Tomorrow will be one week since I got my MRI and they lady said they would deliver the results to Dr. Holt in 48 hours. Well 4 business days later I have not heard from anyone at the office and tomorrow will be getting another copy of the MRI and finding a new doctor. Dr. Holt as a person and doctor was very good I just need an office who had more time for their patients.

Waited about 40 minutes in the waiting room, then you are called and taken to another waiting room, when finally Dr. Holt arrived he spend about 3 minutes with me.

I am having the exact same experience as another who posted here. The physical therapy provider they recommended has not contacted me and will not return my calls. When I call the doctor for help in getting therapy set up (as I was told to do) his nurses do not return my calls. Because of an earlier communication problem, either by the doctor's nurses or because of the physical therapy provider they choose, I was already weeks behind having my post-op therapy. Not only does it effect my quality of life, but also my ability to return to work effectively.

I am an outraged patient. I can't tell you how many times I called to get questions answered about my physical therapy. I can't get any return calls back from his nurse. I can't get any appointments scheduled because it goes straight to voicemail. When I finally got information about my therapy it came from the appointment scheduler!!!! Is there not any laws against this?

I am 5 weeks postop. Dr. Holt has been a very good doctor and I am pleased so far, but I have a long way to go. My only complaint is the scheduler that does not return phone calls for appointments. I wish Dr. Holt knew about this. I waited 2 days and finally called back and insisted on speaking to "Jessica" Holts appointment scheduler. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's almost unbelievable! Wasn't the first time either. I hope they can iron that out soon. I would have tried to find another doctor just because I couldn't get this scheduler to call me back. But he's the doctor that performed the surgery so I HAVE TO SEE HIM!!!!!

Dr Holt performed shoulder surgery on me during the holidays and so far, everything is great. From his staff to his nurse practitioner, everyone was very helpful along the way. I am 7 weeks out of surgery and I'm where I should be as far as the healing process goes. He was very courteous and explained everything thoroughly about my diagnosis. He was very patient with me and answered all my questions because at the time of my surgery, I was 29 years old and he was very reassuring. He even found a different problem with my shoulder during my surgery and he took care of that as well. I would definitely recommend him to anyone that is looking for an orthopedic surgeon.
