Dr. Martha Cesena, MD

was late, harsh. cold and dismissive. didn't really listen, seems like she just wanted to get the appointment over with.

I have had bouts of Anxiety and ADHD for years and have had trouble finding the right medication. Certain medications worsened my anxiety but helped me focus, others made me depressed, but with every check-in, Dr. Cesena took the time to ensure I was heard and was willing to try new medications that wood be a good fit for me. I am a few days into my new prescription and I feel great! I thank Dr. Cesena from the bottom of my heart for listening to me and working with me as we looked for my best treatment plan. In sum, Dr Cesena is: warm and welcoming, easy to contact and responsive, and has a flexible schedule. I highly recommend Dr. Cesena. If you are open and honest with her, she will use every tool in her arsenal to get you back on track!

I am a person who has lived with an anxiety disorder my entire life and was prescribed anti-anxiety meds that had successfully curbed my panic attacks 4 years ago. I needed a new prescriber as I recently moved to MA. Dr. Cesena took my insurance so I contacted her and had a session within the next week. During my first session, Dr. Cesena changed three of my prescriptions and very explicitly told me I was addicted to benzos although I only take my dose once every few months. I was immediately hurt and confused as no time was spent time discussing the other factors of addiction other than long time use. However, I decided to try and stick it out. During our 4th session, she told me she needed to terminate our relationship as I am "difficult to work with". Her explanation of this belief was that I had ended our apt early one session due to tech issues and that I was unable to accept my addiction. Overall I had a traumatizing experience that I have had to go to additional therapy for.

My child had an initial visit with Dr. Cesena. She was abrupt, brash and highly insensitive. These are the opposite characteristics of how a medical professional should approach anyone, especially a young person. My child was traumatized.
