Recently took one of my parents to see Dr. Malawer. Waited 30 minutes past our appointment time in the waiting room, when I asked how long the wait was, they proceeded to take us inside to one of the exam rooms where we waited another 45 minutes! I went back out to find out how much longer it was going to take, and found the doctor rushing in a few minutes later. Very impatient and rushing through the whole exam, which literally took no longer than 5 minutes. For the following 5 minutes he proceeded to talk about himself and his family. Sorry, but... not interested! He gave us a script for antibiotics and sent us out. Bill for the 5 minute exam and 5 minute life story.... $450. Unfortunately, the story doesn't end there. We then procee to the pharmacy to buy the prescription, to find out that Dr. Malawer didn't fill the prescription out properly (in his rush, I guess) and forgot to put dosage and number of days antibitics are needed for. The pharmacist called the doctor's office and… sent them a fax and asked us to return tomorrow. The following evening, well over 24 hours later, we went back to pick up the meds, to find out that the doctor's office never got back to the pharmacy with information requested! The pharmacist knew how urgently my father needed to start the antibiotics so he released the medications regardless. The pharmacy till today never heard back from the Mr. Malawer's office. What a joke!

i have read the other posts here and i came to think that these ratings were posted under the wrong drs name well in my experience with dr malawer he's one of a kind his devotion is outstanding always answers my call he even lets me call his private cell phone he answers his emails in a very short period given tht he is a surgeon i understand tht he wont answer while he is operating but never did i wait long for an answer his profession and writings are world renown as he is one of the pioners in limb salvage replacmnt surg.. dr malawer im so happy tht we did the right choice by picking you to be our surgeon

Dr Malawer is world renowned and has an excellent reputation as a very good surgeon, very innovative in his field.He is well published and has written the standard text book in the field of orthopedic oncological surgery

I don't know who decides how many patients to schedule at WHC, but my wait for Dr. Malawer on the two visits was well over 2 hours the first visit and 1 hour the second. After waiting for such a long time to see the doctor, I was seen for less than 10 minutes and left with "well, if it hurts more, come back", which left his (resident/pupil/?) who was shadowing him dumbfounded, who apologized on his behalf. Dr. Malawer came highly recommended based on his cutting edge research and specialty, but it came with the arrogance of a surgical oncologist. Given the little time spent with me explaining to me my situation, it left me very soured and ultimately sought care from a different surgeon.
