Dr. Martin Weinand

Went in to minor surgery left paralyzed and permanently in a wheelchair. He doesn’t communicate with his patients. He told me I’d get better. I just got worse.

Dr. Weinand is personable, caring, and highly skilled and experienced neurosurgeon. He is accessible to his patients, and takes the time to answer questions - I am so happy to have found him. His treatment has changed my life for the better, and I'll be forever grateful for his compassion and skill.

In 1982 I started having seizures due to brain damage. Seizures got worse to grand mall. Last surgery I had was a grand mall stopped breathing and chewed up my tongue. If it wasn’t for surgery in 2007 by Dr. Martin. Weinand. I would not be seizure free driving a car. He even called to check up on me 5 years to see what my life was like and how it’s changed. I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for this surgery. There’s still potential for return. Even when people have had seizures and this. I still stay away from triggers and recommend everyone to. Thanks for the change in life.

My visit w/him was excellent, his staff was courteous, helpful, and very patient w/me. Dr Weinand spent time to know the history of my condition, and my other ones, as well. If you need a neurosurgeon, I would highly recommend him!

Dr. Weinand changed my life in a way I was afraid to even believe possible. I have been seizure free for almost 2 years now since my surgery. I will be forever grateful to Dr Weinand. He gave me my life back! No negative side effects at all.

He is calm & reassuring. He answered all of my questions (2 pages). Empathetic. Saw me in waiting room organizing notes after an appointment & asked if I was ok. Relaxed me in preop with some light humor. He is skilled, knowledgeable, & carefully plans surgery. UAMC staff told me they would choose him as their surgeon. Heâ??s made Castle Connollyâ??s Top Doctors list.

Dr. Weinand does an excellent job. He performed a successful L4 L5 discectomy on me. 14 years ago he removed a brain tumor on my mother and did an amazing job! She recovered completely. My firefighter sibling went to him for two successful neck surgeries. I can't give him enough praise. He is a great surgeon, which is why we went to him. It's all about the surgery outcome.

I would give a much higher score if this doctor did:1) spend more time w/patient2) explain in detail entire condition3) make sure patient understands everything4) ask patient more questions and look at

Surgeons make mistakes and he is no different. He made an error in my husbands pain pump replacement. Took 48 hours after surgery to discover the error. No apology. We are having to sue to make him responsible for the costs to fix the error he made. I am sure he is as competent as any other but the hospital has horrible communication and surgery followup was a nightmare.
