Dr. Marvin Base, MD

This doctor was my father’s doctor when he was an inpatient. He was cold and indifferent about my father throughout his hospitalization. I wanted to ask for a different doctor but was concerned about offending the hospital. He insisted on a procedure which we did not want and my father did not absolutely need. We refused it at first but my father was made extremely uncomfortable and we were placed under a lot of pressure. In the end, it was having the procedure that caused his death. Although this doctor had insisted on the procedure, he gave my father poor post-op follow up and forgot to renew an order that was in place to prevent a life-threatening situation after the procedure. As a consequence, my dad suddenly fell ill near the planned time of his discharge and died after suffering horribly. Although this happened many years ago, my family is still in shock and heartbroken over his death and the way he died. After my father’s death, when this man saw us, he didn’t even have the… common decency to offer us a single word of consolation. Someone like him should experience firsthand how much patients and their families suffer when their doctors are indifferent. I will forever regret that our paths crossed and that I did not ask for a different doctor.

very knowledgeable and resourceful. was able to address all my concerns and follow up was excellent. the only downside was the wait time.

Competent and resourceful. He makes appropriate referrals to specialists according to your diagnosis, symptoms and as requested by his patient. I am suprised to see the ONE 'horrible' review. He may not be the friendliest but he provides the care needed to treat you promptly and effectively. I want a doctor not a friend.

Stay as far away from Dr. Base as you can. He is obnoxious and rude. He won't listen to you, doesn't believe you, and treats you like you are an idiot.
