Dr. Mary Edwina Colpoys, MD

My kids have been going to Dr. Colpoys since they were babies. She is caring and spends time asking about their entire lives and not just their body related health. She is thorough, and honest about the tradeoffs for treatments, such as HGF, which we decided to pursue for my son. She is patient and methodical and takes time with each of her patients. She does tend to run behind (15 minutes), and that could be resolved with some additional planning. Overall, I strongly recommend her.

I personally went to her for years (finally switched recently thank god) and have had friends that have gone to her and had similar experiences. She straight up ignored my severe anemia, saying the constant dizziness and exhaustion was because of my period even though they were constant, all month. She also ignored obvious symptoms of endometriosis and it was like pulling teeth to get her to write on my chart that I had diagnosed anxiety. She constantly looked to my parent who would gesture back to me and make it clear that they knew nothing of the issue and that I was able to advocate for myself. This would just frustrate her and she would continue to insist that every issue I’d ever had was because of my period or bc I was vitamin d deficient. Overall she was a really awful doctor- only gave her 1 star because (after we reminded her repeatedly) she did completely vaccinate me (she forgot that I needed a 3rd dose of the HPV so we had to remind her). Overall, bad bedside manner, never… trusts the kid in any capacity, and overall just made my life really hard for about 10 years.
