Dr. Maryellen T Sweeney, MD

I was really impressed with Dr. Sweeney. I had a great experience with her and feel appreciative of the time she spent with me working through my new diagnosis of Graves’ disease. she listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and gave me options to consider so I could decide what my best plan of care would consist of. She made me feel comfortable and made a wonderful first impression and though I’m bummed about this diagnosis, I’m confident in her care and look forward to having her on my team in order to get me to my most healthy self.

Waited 2 hrs in the waiting room even though we arrived early. She didn’t listen very well and had her own opinions already formed before seeing me even though she clearly didn’t bother reading the oodles of paperwork I filled out. She had the ability to run lots of tests but chose to not and focused on symptoms that weren’t even an issue. Every time she made a statement it was clear she hadn’t listened to what was previously said. Very disappointed and I expected more from a seemingly good doctor. She acted like her specialty was such a narrow field when endocrinology encompasses so many things in the human body. It amazes me how someone could have so many symptoms checked off and yet she didn’t feel the need to investigate fully.

I had an appointment with Dr. Sweeney and had some labs done that day. She told me that she would get back with me the following week. I have been trying to get my lab results since Wednesday and all they can tell me is that they are still sitting on Dr. Sweeney's desk and that they cannot give me any information until she looks over them. Well when is that going to be???? I have high cholesterol (highest its been is 1500) and high triglycerides (highest is 22,000) so forgive me for stressing out over my labs. I was just in the hospital for two weeks with this and last year in ICU with Pancreatitis. If you say your going to call then you need to call.
