Dr. Mary Ann Everhart-Mcdonald, MD

I saw her on referral from several colleagues. I had previously seen a surgeon about severe lower back pain due to herniated disc in lower back. She prescribed a combination of medication and physical therapy that reduced my pain to 10% of previous level over a single weekend. Physical therapy took care of the rest and I am still doing fine after 10 years.

Very knowledgable and personable

This doctor went through the steps of the EMG/NCV with me right before she did them. She made sure I was comfortable and was aware that it could cause some unexpected pain since it was electrical stimulation of the nerves/muscles. Though she didn't really explain anything about my diagnosis. I knew I had "neuropathy" since she told me I had "slow nerves" but she didn't tell me anything else or help me find out what caused it or IS causing it, etc. I kept asking about my scoliosis and my severe obesity and she said no those would not cause the slow nerve issue. I contacted my GP and he really wont tell me anything. So I am going to have to call Dr. Everhart-Mcdonald and request they send me the report to my home address so I can research it myself.

I ask lot's of questions, all my questions were answered. I received a mini education in what we were testing, what the measurements meant, definition of terms, and much much more. An on target physician with charm.

The doctor was very interactive with excellent manner. She was very thorough in explaining what she was doing as she was going through the testing. She related her findings as she was seeing them, explaining where necessary. In my case, EMG and NCV of my front thigh, the pain was minimal - much less than I expected - less than some static electricity shocks. I left there with the best assurance possible that I had an accurate diagnosis - which is what I was seeking. I definitely recommend Dr Everhart-McDonald to anyone in need of this type of testing.
