Dr. Mary E Gasal, MD

I have the best experience in my visits with Dr Gasal. She is a very caring and knowledgeable healthcare professional. She is trustworthy, and very pleasant to her patients. I trust her with my health and my life. I love Dr Gasal.

I started seeing Dr. Gasal when I was in perimenopause and had hot flashes, night sweats, depression, etc. etc. It was a very difficult time of my life for other reasons as well. Dr. Gasal listened intently and worked on treating the symptoms while respecting my wishes for keeping medication/dosage to a minimum. Over time, when I was between PCP's, she did my annual well-woman exam, and she always made sure to get my mammogram results and checked on my bone density as well. I thought she was always extremely personable in making the doctor visit comfortable, and she shared some personal insights about managing menopause symptom triggers, etc. When reading some of these reviews, I was shocked to see some negative comments about Paola, who has always been very professional, kind, and responsive.

I saw Dr. Gasal several times for osteoporosis. She is insistent that you take a drug (Prolia) and tries to intimidate and belittle you if you say you don’t want to or question her for any reason. When you tell her about side effects you experience, she is flippant. I agree with the other reviewer that Paola is rude and appears to have little empathy for patients. My advice would be to run from this doctor. Find someone who wants to individualize your treatment, not make you part of her drug study.

If I could give a negative star rating I would. Dr Gasal loves to tell her patients completely inappropriate things. Ex: I saw her for Interstitial Cystitis. First thing out of her mouth "well there's no cure you know that right? You'll never be cured." No doctor should say this. She appears to be a narcissist who thinks she knows everything and she is damaging to her patients. What does she get out of telling someone that? I saw a pelvic floor PT through another doctor and 75% of my pain is gone. I saw Gasal for a boil on my perineum. Her response "well you're not going to like what I do to it" meaning cutting it open. Then she sent me home without doing anything for it. I saw another doctor for it, they gave me Bactroban ointment. Gone. Another friend of mine saw her for an annual exam. Gasal: "does sex hurt?" Patient: "no." Gasal's response: "Oh, it will." What, is she, psychic? Does she WANT her patients to be in pain? It would seem so judging by her absurd behavior. She is… incompetent, inappropriate and lacks all compassion. She wants to cause her patients pain. Do NOT see her under any circumstances if you value your gynological health. She should have her license yanked. Absolutely horrible woman. I would not go so far as to call her a doctor.

I have absolutely no issues with Dr. Gasal, but her staff is another story. Specifically her MA, Paola. I have found her to be rude and unhelpful on at least three occasions. She seems to have no respect or caring for the patients. I will be looking for another physician

She spent such quality time with me and did not make me feel like she was rushing. Love her! She's very personable and funny too!

Dr. Gasal spent nearly 2 hours with me from the time I walked in her office until I left. She spent her time explaining in detail the answers to my concerns and educating me on my symptoms. She is thoughtful, considerate and very up to speed with her profession. I was elated with hope when I left her office and highly recommend her to anyone that needs a real person to care for them.

Dr. Gasal has cared for me (and now my daughter) for almost 18 years. She has seen me through one pregnancy, multiple regular checkups and even a cancer scare that she jumped on. Somehow she manages to make patients feel very special and cared about; I know I always do. Our family considers her a blessing and we kindly give her our highest recommendation.

Dr. Gasal is professional, kind and amazingly accurate. When you walk into her office you always hear her laugh (which is something I never heard at any other Doc. office before). She always makes me feel at ease, she has vast knowledge of her profession and she never asks you to take un-needed tests.She would be my first pick for an obstetrician If she still practiced it.I highly recommend her and completely trust her to take good care of me.
