Dr. Mary E Gloudemans, MD

Dr. Gloudemans has been a pediatrician in Tucson for 23 years. She spent her childhood in Wisconsin where she attended the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine. Upon moving to Tucson to complete a three year residency program at the University of Arizona Medical Center she fell in love with the desert southwest and decided to make it her permanent home. Dr. Gloudemans says, "I am so grateful that I still love the profession which I chose at the age of 12." She feels that empowering parents by discussing options for their children's health care, behavioral management, and strategies for home management of illnesses both major and minor to be the most rewarding and important aspect of her job. "Caring for children is a privelege. I love to watch my patients grow through the stages of childhood and adolescence, and never tire of discussing what is normal and important during different developmental periods." Dr. Gloudemans is also very interested in nutrition and feels optimizing …nutrition during childhood is especially important. When she is not at work Dr. Gloudemans enjoys spending time with her two children who are now teenagers (yes children do grow up quickly). She is an avid hiker and loves to do just about anything which takes her outdoors. She loves to read, cook, and travel. She also practices yoga and meditation which provides balance to her sometimes hectic life.
