Mary E. Gordinier, M.D., earned her medical degree from the UofL School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Women & Infants Hospital at Brown University in Providence, R.I. Dr. Gordinier completed fellowships in women’s oncology at Brown University in and gynecologic oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Gordinier has over 25 years of experience in clinical research, has authored more than 30 scientific publications and served as a primary investigator in numerous national cooperative group trials. She believes that well-designed clinical trials are essential to driving meaningful advances in cancer care.

She credits her fellowship experiences and mentors for teaching her an open-minded and compassionate care philosophy that continues to inform her practice today. She strongly believes that communication, truly understanding a patient’s …perspective and never losing sight of the patient’s quality of life are essential components of excellent care.

Outside of work, Dr. Gordinier has a passion for scuba diving and travel. Every year, she takes an “adventure vacation” to explore a part of the world she hasn’t yet visited. She finds that kind people are everywhere and deeply enjoys learning about new cultures and perspectives.

Referred to Dr. Gordinier after a young APRN at my Dr. office was openly HORRIFIED at my tumor. THAT was the worse experience so I was apprehensive but Dr. Gordinier and her staff treated me with respect and understanding. She double checked everything to confirm diagnosis. I saw her on a Friday and had me scheduled for surgery the following Monday. She is simply AMAZING and cares so much about her patients. (and shout out to Justin who cares about those patients just as much as works miracles!!!)

Everyone was very professional and very personable!! I am cancer free now and Dr. Gordinier is an amazing doctor!! Always kept me very informed about everything! Still going back for regular screenings!!

I received treatment for cervical cancer and continued in follow-up consultations. Excellent team and very professional doctor, dedicated to their patients and their career.

I was refered to Dr. Gordinier by my family Dr. after have several abnormal paps. My first appt. was a great experience. She spent the time with me explaining what all the test results were, that I was going to have to have surgery and what all would happen with the surgery (there were other complications besides the cancer cells) Her staff was awesome, everyone was so friendly and made you feel like you had known them forever!

I was dx with ovarian cancer. Dr. Gordinier was the third Dr.I went to for the third opinion. She spent more time than I even imagined with me on my first appointment. She did my surgery and my final 6 rounds of chemo. I can't say enough about Dr. Gordinier, her kindness, professionalism, and caring is more than I ever expected I could not imagine going to anyone different. Her staff always makes you feel important and very courteous.
