Dr. Mary Mathai Joseph, MD

I obtained my medical degree from Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi University, India. I then completed a residency in General Surgery and board certification from Delhi University. I was awarded certificate of merit for Ophthalmology and ENT, as well as the presidents medal for best Interne. After moving to the US, I switched to Anesthesiology. After completing a residency in Anesthesiology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, I joined their faculty for 2 years. I then joined the department of Anesthesiology at USC in July 1980 and am currently working fulltime, as Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology. I have been actively involved in clinical research with medical students and residents. I have also presented papers at most major Anesthesiology conferences in many countries. I am Director of Anesthesia rotation for medical students and was awarded a teaching award at the white coat ceremony, USC in 2005.
