Dr. Mary Lee C Josey, MD

Treated HORRIBLY by the receptionist. Dr. Josey herself was very kind to me, but last year I had to undergo a cervical biopsy at the age of 19 when none of my friends my age even have a gynecologist yet. Dr. Josey was calm and kind to me during the procedure, but the biopsy itself was an extremely traumatizing and scary experience for me. Due to my anxiety afterwards, I did not want to go back for my next pap smear. I am at college now and called the receptionist to refill my birth control that I am late on for the first time ever. The prescription has worked great (never had any problems with it) and the receptionist went on and on about how she is more concerned about how I missed my pap rather than the fact that I'm behind on my prescription, which obviously is bad and can mess up my hormones. I told her I just needed one refill and that I'd see a gyno immediately for a pap smear in my college town but that I just needed one refill today/tomorrow. The receptionist continued to… condescend and be extremely rude to me to the point that I started to cry and she said "Ok bye" and hung up on me. As someone who works in customer service myself, I am shocked and horrified by this disrespectful service from the receptionist. Who listens to a 20 year old get upset about a traumatizing experience I had with a procedure at YOUR office and then hangs up on me when I ask for one refill? By hanging up on me, she also left me sitting there alone with no idea what the next steps are to go from here and feeling very alone. I will NEVER go back here. Find a new receptionist who isn't so disrespectful and insensitive.

Office staff does not wear masks even though I was told they all do when I specifically asked this when I booked the appointment. Only the doctor was wearing one. “Nurse” did not wash her hands or wear gloves. Obviously not taking the pandemic seriously or following CDC guidelines. I am looking for a new GYN for next year.

I became a patient of Dr. Josey after my doctor of many years retired. I was extremely anxious to see a new physician but Dr. Josey immediately put me at ease. She is very thorough and compationate.

My daughter’s been calling over and over and can’t get through to anyone to schedule an appointment. She’s been going there for a few years and needs an appointment before she studies abroad. This is ridiculous!

I have been her patient for years and she is amazing. Listens, takes time and great DR. She is not OB though

As a new patient- a lady called to confirm my appt and I showed up the following day. Not once did she say the actual say the date of my appt nor say the actual appt was 2 days away. Just made it clear how they were gonna charge me a $75 charge if I didn't show up. Working in the medical field for over 10 years I understand how to value a patients time. I left work losing paid time off and the front lady with blonde hair looked perplexed when I said I had an appt. she tells me my appt is for the following day..and they confirm 2 days before. They waiting room had 2 people...they couldn't of taken the extra step to ask if it was okay to fit me on the schedule. Just said sorry and looked away. Not returning to this clinic.

Dr. Josey is awesome! However, due to her staff I am looking another Dr. You can NEVER get through on the phone. Her staff leaves you a message 20 minutes before closing the office on a Friday that need to discuss your test results! Seriously, who does that ,especially to so someone who has been through something major! Now it's Monday and I cannot get through to them. I am on the phone looking for another Doctor. Shame on her staff!!!

I've been seeing Dr. Josey for several years now, and would recommend her to anyone who needs a gynecologist only. Unlike combined OB/GYN practices, you'll never wait too long in her comfortable office. She is kind and so are her staff. Her office respects my time...I rarely wait for more than 5 minutes. Maybe 10.

I have been going to Dr. Josey for a few years (she was my first gynecologist). She comes in when you're fully clothed to talk about your problems or concerns before the exam. She was very caring, and she understood my concerns about having my first exam. She has been amazing every time I see her, whether for a problem visit or my annual exam. She is never judgmental and always polite, she always stays as long as you need her, she never seems rushed to get to her next patient.The only downside is the lady in the front office isn't very nice at all, kind of snappy if you ask her anything. Other than that, every experience with her has been as delightful as it can be!

Dr. Josey and her nurse are wonderful! The girl at the front desk is a little bit rude and not very polite when checking in or when she calls with lab results. I drive over 30 minutes to see Dr. Josey. The first time I had an appointment, she came in while I was fully dressed and spoke with me about my concerns. She is not judgmental when describing symptoms or concerns, she explains herself fully and in a way patients can understand, answers all your questions and she has never seemed as if she was in a rush to get to her next patient. I would say the only downfall is that you have to make appointments over a month in advance, unless its an emergency in which case she will see you right away. Previous to my experiences with her I dreaded getting a pap test every year but now its a pleasant experience (as pleasant as this type of appointment can be!).
